 Made in Portugal.

This program intends to be a Workench utility that should be kept
open when doing text editing. It is here to resolve conflicts betwen
IBM compatibles text format and Amiga format. Also performs some
text encoding to protect your text.

Besides its utility, it's also supposed to be an incentive to
releasing software made in this country. Also I'll be glad to supply
its full assembly source code (as other sources) to anyone who
reaches me for that purpose. I'll also be glad to say a word to
anyone doing assembly/C code programming on the Amiga (just don't
speak to me about Basic!).

Using TextVerter is very straightfoward. There are (as of now) four
basic functions:

Convert to "ASCII only" - converts any non-ASCII character
into a question mark '?' so you may
quickly 'search' them on a text
                                  editor.

        Convert "CR"<=>"CR-LF"  - detects the end-of-line character
                                  and performs reverse conversion.

Usually Amiga generated textfiles have a 'CR' character for
line-feed & carriage return, so, when you try using it on a IBM
compatible the text will form one unique, very long line that usually
is not supported by the text editors, so you should convert it using
this utility.
When you bring IBM compatible like text into the Amiga it will have
blank lines between text lines. This is due to the extra line-feed
'LF' used on such files. When TextVerter detects these, it will
strip them.

Convert both ASCII/CR-Lf - performs both described actions.

Crypt text - Performs fast encoding of your text.
It detects whether you're giving it an already
encoded text or not and acts accordingly.

After you select the conversion type, click the "DoIt..." gadget to
begin the conversion. You'll be prompted for a file to be loaded and
then a requester will pop up with some of the following text:

"ASCII only" - means that your file only has ASCII characters
"CR-LF pair" - means that it is an IBM compatible style file.
"LF only" - means that it is probably an Amiga text file.

As you find convenient either Cancel the operation at this stage, or
proceed, allowing the save-file requester to pop up. Once you select
a save-file the conversion will start. If no errors occur, you'll be
back at the starting window; otherwise a requester will pop up, to
inform you and allow you to either 'reselect' the file in question
(the file requester will re-pop up) or cancel.

Since the program is fully made in assembly it is really fast
specially on hardisks and ramdisks. There's a 68030 version which is
smaller and faster than the 680x0 version on the 68030. Use it!
