What Does It Do?

Well, it checks your systemclock. I found that there are some programs
around, mainly games, that mess up the hardware systemclock. Sometimes
the clock is set to a date in the past or even to the future. Since it
played havoc on my Messagebase a couple of times, I created this small
program.  When it is run, it creates a tiny file ('TimeLastOn') in the
DEVS: directory. Here it stores the time it was run.  When the program
is run again, it reads this file and compares that to the current time
as specified by the Amiga clock. If the time in the file is later than
the current time in your Amiga chances are that the hardware clock has
been messed with.  TimeCheck then flashes the screen and displays both
the time it found in its file and the current system time. So then you
can evaluate this and take the appropriate action. Now what happens if
some nice proggy has set the clock to a future date?  No problem, I've
programmed for that. Just run TimeCheck with the DAY parameter to tell
how many days the system date may be in the future and still be valid.
So if you specify 14 days and you ran TimeCheck last on 14-02-92.  The
current time is 29-02-92. Now TimeCheck will issue a warning since the
specified period of 14 days since the last time it was run, (14-02-92)
has been exceeded. Had the current time been 27-02-92, TimeCheck would
not have complained since this is within that specified 14 day period.

How Do I Run It.

TimeCheck NEEDS a CLI or Shell for it's output.  So you could place it
in your StartUp-Sequence.  This way it will always check your clock. I
have put it there and also in the script that starts GCCHost. Thus the
chance that the clock has been messed with and so messes up my message
base is almost zero.

Usage: TimeCheck [DAYS]

Where DAYS is optional. TimeCheck ? will supply you with a tiny online
manual.

Copying / Distribution.

TimeCheck is NOT Public Domain. It may however be freely redistributed
as long as this is done noncommercially. People wanting to bundle this
program with their own (non-commercial) offerings are allowed to do so
providing they send me copy of that disk for my collection. Commercial
developers MUST previously contact me if they wish to bundle TimeCheck
with any of their offerings. 

This program is FreeWare. However if you think I deserve something for
