YES. At last it is here... The PRO-PACKER V1.0 by ESTRUP/STATIC BYTES. This little tool can best be described as a NoisePacker/Replayer, supporting ProTracker V1.1B modules, including ALL the new effect-commands. The Pro-Packer itself is very simple to use, just follow the instructions. Note that you can exit by just pressing return when asked a filename, both upon "Module to pack" and "Module to save". The replayer is used just like any other Pro/Noise/Soundtracker-replayer: Call mt_init at the beginning, mt_music every frame and mt_end to stop. Please note that the replayer supports only VBlank-timing, not CIA. Also note that the replayer uses a Level 6-interrupt. The average amount of raster-time used by the replayer is about 22 raster-lines. Not very fast, but it's a lot faster than the original PT1.1B-replayer, which I've seen use up to 57! raster-lines when playing certain modules. As you'll notice, the Pro-Packer is much less efficient than NoisePacker, and the replayer uses about 3 times the raster-time of the NoisePacker FastReplay. Therefore, you should only use the Pro-Packer for ProTracker V1.1B-modules not supported by NoisePacker and it's replayer(s). The fact that a module is composed in ProTracker doesn't necessarily prevent it from being supported by NoisePacker, as long as none of the new effect-commands or fine-tuning are used. In the (near?) future, I'll make an update with a faster replayer, but until then, if you have any comments, suggestions, bug-reports etc., I'll be more than glad to hear them. It may be freely distributed, as long as the files PP1.0.doc and PPReplay.S are included (without that, the packer is totally useless). NO profit WHATSOEVER may be made from selling Pro-Packer V1.0.
