___________________________________________________ | | | The FAST FILER, Written by WTJ Riezebos in 1989 | | Documentation on the Program | |___________________________________________________| Fast Filer can be used to write several files to disk, and make them executable from the bootblock. In other words, Fast Filer installs multiple files on disk. You can use LOAD PROGRAM and LOAD UNLINKED to load your desired program into memory. Before you are able to write your program to disk you should CLEAR your disk. You can CLEAR any disk, which is formatted or used for normal AMIGA-DOS usage. If your Fast Filer-disk is invaded by a virus, or whatever, you can restore the bootblock by clicking the "Re-install" box. Note that the maximum amount of programs written to a Fast Filer-disk is 12. (that is in case the average program is not larger than 75K). Not every program can be installed with Fast Filer, a program which uses the DOS.LIBRARY or which has more than one segment cannot be written to disk (due to the kikstart). If you discover that the last program written by Fast Filer does not work, you can delete it by clicking DEL. Fast Filer asks if you're sure, and if you are it deletes the last file. One remark on ENTER BOOTNAME. If you load a program into memory, you should tell the boot how you want it to be called and then after pressing RETURN, Fast Filer asks you wether to center the text or not. Answer as you please. Please note that a Fast Filer-disk cannot be used as a normal disk to write files to! If a few files are written to a Fast Filer-disk, a checksum error occurs after inserting the disk. Never mind, clickaway the requesters and press the right mouse, or use LEFT-AMIGA-N to return to Fast Filer. Specifications: Memory used: Approximately 60K (Fast memory compatible!) Files : Maximum amount of 12 (usually enough to fill your disk) Filesize : Depends on your available memory, but is usually about 350K Drives Used: 0 and 1 Control : Mouse and keyboard needed Disks : Need to be formatted once Drive type : Normal. I realize that it is easy to copy any program, so I didn't protect FF in any way but to make sure that many handy programs will follow in the future you can make a small donation. If you do, you will receive information concerning new products in progress or even a disk containing all products made so far. Send your money to WTJ Riezebos Sterkenburgerlaan 3 3941 BB DOORN GIRO 5712259 PS. You will only receive a disk containing products in case an amount over F25,- is donated!
