Yahzee v1.0 =========== Copyright (C) 1994 Lorens Younes (d93-hyo@nada.kth.se) This program may be freely distributed except for commercial purpose, so long as the files included are not separated or modified. INTRODUCTION ------------ This is a implementation of the famous dice game with the same name. It open a window on the Workbench screen (or any other public screen). SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ------------------- Yhazee will run on any Amiga computer with version 2.0 or higher of the OS (or at least I hope it will). HOW TO PLAY ----------- The dices are rolled by pressing the Rollgadget. Only dices that have been replaced by a filled rectangle will be rolled when the gadget is pressed. To toggle a dice's state just click on it! To start a new game select New from the Game menu. Use the Settings menu to set the Number of Players wanted. To quit the game select Quit from the Game menu or click on the closegadget of the gamewindow. Yahzee is played with five dices. The purpose with the game is to gather as many points as possible. When it becomes your turn (your number will be highlighted at the top) you may roll the dices three times. After each roll select the dices you want to roll again. If you don't want to roll any dices don't select any of them and press the Rollgadget once. When you have used all your rolls the possible scores that your dices may give you will appear on the scoreboard. Select the one you want to use by clicking on. If you regret you choice you may select Undo from the Game menu. The game will finish when the scoreboard has been filled. If your score beats the High Score you will be asked to enter your name for the High Score "list" (contains only one score). Here is a short description of all the enteries on the scoreboard: Aces - every dice that is an ace gives one point. Twos - every dice that is a two gives two points. Threes, Fours, Fives and Sixes - same as for Aces and Twos. Bonus - 50 points if your Upper Total is 63 or more. 1 pair - if you have a single pair the sum of the dices involved will show up in this position. 2 pairs - if you have two pairs the sum of the dices involved will show up in this position. 3 of a kind - if you have three dices of the same kind the sum of those dices will show up here. 4 of a kind - same as above, but you need four dices of the same kind. Sm straight - 15 points if the dices are 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Lg straight - 20 points if the dices are 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Full House - if you have three of a kind and pair at the same time the sum of all dices will show up in this position. Chance - use this when no other position is usefull. The sum of all dices will count here, no matter what the dices show. YAHZEE - gives 50 points if all dices are of the same kind. TOOLTYPES --------- The following tooltypes are recognized by Yhazee: PUBSCREEN= Use this to open the window on other public screens than the default one.
