Game Tamer V3.0 =============== by Gary Henderson ================= If you're like me and you get hold of a Game and you play it for a while & then get stuck. Then the only answer is to cheat! Now which Magazine and which issue was it that you read about a cheat for the game. So under your bed you crawl and start to look through all those back issues you've kept incase they come in usefull. Several hours later You find it. Hooorah !! Well maybe Game Tamer will come in useful for you then as it contains 323 different cheats for games of all kinds. All the cheats are in alphabetical order so finding the one you want should be no problems. There are in total 363 entries into Game Tamer but some games use two or three entries. This version has seen a complete rewrite of the main program, which now enables it to run using 20,000 bytes less memory than the previous version 2.4. The actual program is only slightly bigger, but contains an extra 198 lines of data. Using Game Tamer ---------------- The Program is set out as shown below. All functions are controlled using the Mouse and Pointer. The lines that begin with B* show the names of the games that you can select to have the Game cheat for. ie 3D Pool. In the actual program there are 11 of these lines with 3 Games on each line. Just click inside each games own box to reveal the Cheat mode. This gives a total of 33 Cheats per page of the program. Some games you will notice have the name repeated 2 or 3 times this is not an error, just that some games have so many possible cheats that all the required information cannot be shown at once in the Cheat Viewer Box. The line that begins with C* controls various functions within the Game Tamer itself. The numbers 1 to 10 are used to select the Various Pages of Cheats. The `About' button will just display information about the Program. The `Greets' button has a few hellos to people I know. The `Printer : OFF' button will control whether or not to print the Game Cheat direct to your printer. In the OFF position when you select a cheat it will only be shown in the Cheat Viewer box. If you then click with the pointer onto the word `OFF' it should then change to `ON' and then all subsequent selections will be printed to your printer as well as being shown in the Cheat Viewer Box. Click again to change it back to `OFF`. The Box that begins with D* is the Cheat Viewer box you heard mentioned so much above. This is where the Cheat is actually shown on screen. It is at the bottom of the screen and is five lines of text long so as to keep all the cheats as quick and simple as possible. How to activated the Cheat -------------------------- To use the cheat should be fairly simple all passwords etc are in quotes ie these little things ` ' this is done to prevent any confusion about what you must actually type within the Game. DO NOT TYPE THE QUOTES. If the codeword is in UPPERCASE type it in UPPERCASE, if its in lowercase type it in lowercase. ( For all you thickies thats CAPITALS letters and normal letters. ) Some cheats actually require you to obtain a high score with the game you are playing and rather than type in your name, type in the Cheat that was given. To Quit Game Tamer ------------------ Move the mouse pointer to the very top left corner as far as you can get it and click the left mouse button. Or press CTRL+C. Trouble Shooting ---------------- If you type in a cheat and it doesn't work try one of the following tips to try and rectify this. 1. If I gave a cheat in CAPITALS then try it in lowercase or with only the first letter of the word in Capitals. This also aplies if I gave it in lowercase try it in CAPITALS. etc. 2. If you are told to enter the cheat on the title page try it whilst actually playing the game, or whilst the game is paused. If I said to type it whilst playing then try it on the title screen and Vice versa. You could also try entering the game onto the high score table. 3. Send hate mail to me as I must have typed in the wrong words or I was given the wrong cheat. 4. If you have trouble Shooting then buy a Shotgun you can't miss with one of those. Well Arnold never does. Printer Trouble --------------- If you try printing and it doesn't work, it could be because of one of the following reasons. 1. The Printer Function is set at `OFF' in Game Tamer click it for `ON'. 2. You do no have the required printer drivers on the disk you booted from. If this happens try booting with your Workbench disk first and then selecting Game Tamer by either using your second drive and clicking on the icon provided. If there is no Workbench you will have to use the Shell/CLI. If you only have one drive allow the Workbench to completely load and then swop disks and copy the game tamer program to RAM: and then re-insert the workbench disk and load Game Tamer from RAM: 3. Your printer is not set online. 4. You might not own a printer. I suggest you buy one! 5. My Program is naff and won't work with your computer. Sorry! Booting up Problems ------------------- Sometimes Game-Tamer fails to boot up. You must have the fonts.library on your boot disk in the libs directory of your boot disk. This Program also requires you to set the Text to 80 Characters.
