I hear you say, well it is similar to DMS track, warp and zoom type disk archivers with one major exception, DABB does blocks rather than whole tracks. So you can make an archive of only 516 bytes which is one block plus a 4 byte data table. So you can now release updates of demos,utilities which only have a few blocks changed. How to use it. To use DABB is simplicity itself, just type DABB FileName Then you are asked for a list of blocks to put in the archive you now type a list of blocks seperated by 's. End the list by typing -1 , It doesnt matter what order you type the block list in, but if you do them all over the place it will cause excessive disk head move- ments,. So to make an archive called RAM:Archive containg blocks 0,1 and 880 do this DABB RAM:Archive 0 1 880 -1 A file called Archive will be created in the RAM: directory, currently DABB only uses DF0: so all archives will be read/written from/to DF0:. UnArchiving is done wiht UnDABB which only takes one argument (the name of the archive file). so to unarchive the above example type UnDABB RAM:Archive And the archive will be put onto the current disk in DF0: A good way of making large archives is to make a list of the blocks you want in the archive in a seperate file, making sure you put a -1 at the end of the file, then redirect the input to DABB as such DABB ArchiveName
