Championchip Manager Editor 1.1 REGISTERED! -------------------------------------------- Highrise Inc. Programmed in AMOS **An Registered version which now edits end of season and Italia editions** This all started when, after about twelve seasons of playing CMAN 94, my save game got corrupted. Lots of the players had strange values for passing and so on, and my club (Man Utd) were 1200 Million pounds in debt. I decided to try and hack into the program, and try and fix the problem. After finding out a few bits and pieces, this is the result. It's not the most concise editor (there are loads of extra things that could be added), but it does it's job. This is what you can do: 1) Change the name of a player - Unfortunately, the way the game is set up, it is very awkward to have any name you want. You can however change the name to any combination of first name and surname within the program. There are about 450 first names and roughly 1400 surnames, so there is room for a lot of combinations, but the whole thing is a bit of a novelty, and so I didn't spend that much time on this part of the editor - will be much better if I ever get round to improving the program. 2) Change the players passing, tackling, pace, creativity and so on, and also his age. Most attributes are 0-20, age is 16-40. (This is useful if one of your best players is getting too old ! He can live forever ! It can be quite interesting resurrecting old players like Hoddle, Wilkins and Robson - also, because managers names are structured similarly, you can bring back players like Keegan, Francis, Dalglish and Ardiles (Although as they are now managers, you would have to change the name of another player to make this possible). All you have to do is insert disk 3 (2 for Italia), and the program loads your saved game into the memory, and allows you to edit. It is best to have a printout of your team, so that you know their first names and surnames (The program asks you for a player to start with). Once you begin editing you will see that each player has a number (0-about 1800). You can browse through by using the `-` and `=` keys. If you use shift you will step through in tens. Press space for online help page, which tells you the other keys, which are: to return to player name input. to leave editor. Arrows up and down to select, right and left to adjust. Shift-S to save to disk (Load as normal into the game). Shift-L to Load the saved data (i.e if you`ve made a real mess of editing). Be careful when you change a player's name, because if you forget the name you changed it to, it will take forever to find him again. If you are editing a game that you haven't played long (i.e 93,94,95 season) you might notice that the players are stored by club at first, but once the transfers get started, the whole thing is quite random. It's not a bad idea to make a note of a player's number so that you don't lose him. You might find that even if you give all your players maximum scores, there will only be a slight improvement - this is because the players have 'hidden' attributes, including goalscoring ability, consistency, dirtiness, and injury proneness. I haven't worked out where these are yet. There is also an attribute which appears to make the players brilliant, but lowers their morale - watch this space... If this program is reasonably popular, I will work on a new one, which might include : Set up personal surnames and first names (probably separate editor as this is in the source code.) Change the names of the clubs - this will allow any league to be simulated, you could manage your local team. (Again separate editor). Change the goalscoring, consistency etc. Changing a player's position and side i.e D,M,A, and L,R and C Change the players wages, and the clubs budget. Any other stuff I can come up with. This program is written in uncompiled AMOS, so if you have the package, you should be able to load it into the editor and explore (but don't expect to be too impressed !) Ok, Thats it. Hope you like it ***********************STOP PRESS for v1.1 Registered*********************** 1) The input of surnames / first names has been improved - the surname must be correct, but if you dont know the exact first name, the program will go to the nearest player with that surname. 2) I will be working on a 2.0 version - I have almost got the editor to allow names changes sorted, but it needs more work - wages are ok, and there might be an option to heal injured players. I have yet to find the variable that changes a players position and side yet, so don't wait up.
