Hello!

The long-awaited Pro Fighter X Turbo has been recently released by CCL

and we're proud to say this unit was well worth the wait! The driving force

behind the PFXT was the release of the popular Super Wild Card DX which

boasted many new features and enhancements never before seen on any other

backup system leaving the Pro Fighter series behind. Well CCL is now

striking back with the Pro Fighter X Turbo. And we have to say the PFXT

is an equal match for the SWC DX and will undoubtedly please all Pro Fighter

owners and fans!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Pro Fighter series of model upgrades,

we'll make things a bit more simple. We'll first list the differences between

the PFX compared to the PFQ+, and then list the differences of the PFXT

compared to the PFX.

What was new in the PFX compared to the PFQ+:

---------------------------------------------

1) Totally redesigned casing with sleek new plastic shell, a sliding door

style hatch for ram upgrades and rear peg support for USA super nintendos.

2) The internal I/O (Com) port has been removed and now comes as an optional

   accessory.

3) Added new SRAM & checksum deprotection routines to backup the latest

   protected software.

4) The BIOS now comes with 300 internal Goldfinger codes (1 for each of 300

   different games).

5) Built-in DSP1 now comes as a standard feature.

6) Improved driver routines so that the games load about 15% faster.

7) Auto-boot load routines for multi-disk games. i.e. Upon inserting the

next disk of your backup, the disk drive will automatically recognize

the disk and continue loading without you having to press <B> to retry.

8) Added game name window. i.e. When a game begins loading, it reads the

file header and a new window pops-up displaying the full name of the game.

Hence, if your file is called SUPERST.1, in the game name window you will

see: GAME NAME "Super Street Fighter."

9) Auto CRC Error checking verifies your file is not corrupt. This is very

useful because without CRC Error checking, you may think your game is

working properly but will possibly find out somewhere during your game

that it is corrupt! (crashes, glitches, etc)

What's new in the PFXT compared to the PFX?

-------------------------------------------

 1) First and foremost the PFXT has all the features of the PFX.

 2) The PFXT now has a slimline plastic casing which is even sleeker, more

compact and comes with built-in rear support without using pegs. Also

it's no longer a rip-off of the DPF casing with the slots closed in with

plastic. The unit itself fits perfectly on any Super Nintendo and its

2-tone grey color matches the SNES beautifully.

 3) The PFXT now has a built-in Gameboy adapter on the right-hand side.

However, to utilize this capability, you will need to buy the Smart-Card

to play & store the Gameboy games. This is sold separately and is the most

expensive piece (if you were to buy the entire gameboy adapter accessory).

What is great though is the Gameboy DOS is now built-into the PFXT and

is easily activated by selecting the GB DOS option. Note: PFX/PFQ/DPF

owners have to load the GB DOS separately from disk.

 4) The menu system has been revamped with your choice of 3 different

diagonally scrolling backgrounds or 1 solid color background. Also,

most of the windows have been redrawn using "button" style graphics

with an excellent choice in colors. Overall the menu has a much shinier/

glossier look to it and blows away any other Pro Fighter menu ever

seen! Our hats off to CCL!

 5) Added to the main menu is an option called "Diagnostics". When entering

this sub-menu you will have your choice of 5 more sub-options including:

*PRO FIGHTER... This displays DRAM, SRAM, TRAM & DSP information.

Also displayed is the BIOS version number which means CCL will now

make regular updates for the PFXT. You can upgrade your BIOS with

    a simple chip replacement!

*CARTRIDGE... Displays ROM, SRAM, DSP, MODE & VERSION of the

    current IC card inserted.

*SNES... This is unique! It actually gives you some relevant

information regarding the SNES you are using.

*VERIFY... This allows you to toggle write & format with verify

    to ON or OFF.

*TEST... This is simply great! This will thoroughly self-test the DRAM,

SRAM & TRAM of your unit and obviously let you know if they are

    good or bad!

 6) The system startup & function execution time such as directory listings,

window displays and moving through the menu itself is significantly

    faster.

 7) The game name window information has been expanded similar to the style

of the SWC DX. The game name, mode, sram, country etc are now displayed

for each game. The game name window as stated earlier looks beautiful

with the style and colors CCL chose.

 8) Added to the menu is also the COPY DISK option. This allows you to copy

a full disk rather than copying 1 file at a time.

 9) Included in the BIOS are several hundred more internal Goldfinger codes

added to the previous 300 already from the Pro Fighter X. To explain

in more detail, after you load a game it will prompt you to:

"Use Goldfinger password YES/NO" If you choose YES, a Golfinger password

will be executed and you will get an in-game cheat such as unlimited

lives, shields, power ups, weapons etc. If you choose NO, the game

will play as a normal cartridge without any cheats.

10) Included in the BIOS are even more SRAM & checksum deprotection routines

to backup the latest protected software!

11) The PFXT also uses an ASIC circuit board. The ASIC circuitry means

fewer chips are used on the circuit board. For example, the PFX

used 18 different chips on the circuit board, the PFXT uses only 9.

This means a significantly lower defective rate (although the

PFX had an incredibly low defective rate anyways!), better longevity

    and stability for the PFXT.

12) The system now features "Internal Game Memory" *BEST NEW FEATURE*

This feature is similar to the GameDoctorSF in which you can store

entire backed-up games into your ram to be played later without having

to reload them even after powering <off> your SNES.

Example: Load Mortal Kombat 2 either from disk or I/O.

Play the game for as long as you want or shut it <off> immediately.

Turn your PFXT back <on> an hour, day, or even years later and you

will still see on the menu a window saying:

    "INTERNAL GAME: MORTAL KOMBAT 2"

This means that Mortal Kombat 2 (your entire backed-up game) is now

completely stored in ram until you load a different game into ram.

Hence, choose the INTERNAL GAME option and you can play MK2

instantaneously from ram everytime without having to reload it!!!

It's like playing the game from the original cartridge (no loading!)

How many times have you gotten a hot new game which you played many

times and had to wait to reload it because you powered <off> your

SNES? Now it's OK to power <off> your SNES because the game will

still be stored in ram! Powering <off> the SNES will have no effect.

What's also great is this feature is done automatically. Everytime

you load a game it will automatically store that entire game into

ram for you. And that game will be auto-erased out of ram anytime

you decide to load a different game into ram. Hence, that "different"

game will now be the current game stored in ram for future play!

The way this feature was implemented was brilliant! The way it is handled

and executed is so natural that you don't even realize it is

automatically happening. There could have been many other ways that CCL

could have handled this option, but the choice they made was certainly

    the best!

This is a fantastic feature that we feel every backup unit owner will

simple love and is something the SWC DX does not have. Not that we are

in any way attempting to put the SWC DX down.
