Last Minute Stuff ------------------ As usual there are a few things we didn't get printed in the manual or on an errata sheet before they went to the printers. In place of a printed Zone Evolution Chart we have included a program called ZoneEvolutionChart. Just click on the icon to get a screen with a chart of different levels of zone evolution. This chart may also be printed by selecting Print from the menu. PRINTING WILL NOT WORK WITH AMIGADOS 1.1 OR 1.2 PRINTER DRIVERS. Printing your maps and posters with SimCity requires that you use the AmigaDOS 1.3 printer driver for your printer. SimCity comes configured with the EpsonX printer driver. If you need to use another driver then run Sim City from your 1.3 WorkBench or System disk. The SimCity printer requester also allows you to adjust the printer density and the palette for your printer. The original SimCity palette may be too dark for your printer so we have provided two lighter shades of the palette from the printer requester. Experiment with various combinations to find which one works best with your printer. Also refer to your AmigaDOS 1.3 Enhancer manual for more information on printing. A very important feature that is not mentioned in the manual is the Demand Indicator. It is located at the very left side of the Editor Window. The Demand Indicator gives a constant reading of the resident's needs for residential (green bar), commercial (blue bar) and industrial (yellow bar) zoning. When the bars point up towards the "+" the demand is positive - more zones are needed. When the bars point down, towards the "-" the demand is negative - you have too many of these zones. Zones will not develop if there is no demand for them. The manual was wrong on the population of a Megalopolis (250,000). A Megalopolis has 500,000 people. A feature has been added to the Budget Window: When setting funding levels, clicking on the up or down arrows moves the funding amounts up or down 1% per click. If you hold down the shift key while clicking on the arrows, the amounts will move up or down by 10% per click. REMINDER: select the "Activate" gadget in the right hand corner to activate SimCity when returning from another application. MORE ON HARD DISK INSTALLATION AND USE: Copy all the contents of the SimCity disk into a subdirectory on your hard disk. The easiest way is to Copy SimCity 1.0: all. To launch SimCity from your hard disk, SimCity, the Scenario directory, and SimData files must all be in the current directory. To launch SimCity from a City Icon on another disk, shift click on the SimCity Icon, then double click on the City file. Grow slow, keep your costs down, and have fun!
