Cybertris v1.2 Released At The Cybertek Group Meeting (June 1994) My last AMOS production! This program may not be sold by anyone (Amiga Coverdisks, PD Libraries, etc.) in any media form without WRITTEN permission from the author. I am generally described as a right bastard, but I am a reasonable person at times. Credits. Programming & Graphics by Slush/Cybertek Music by Soul of DCS (Duel Crew Shining) Can you guess where the samples came from? The samples when two blocks touch and the sample when the lines are being faded are by Laxity/Kefrens and lifted off Desert Dreams. The sample when the lines fall is by SLL/Kefrens(?) and was taken from Guardian Dragon. This program is compatible with all Amigas with one meg or over of memory (chip or fast). It works on 1200's, well it should do, it was written on a 1200! WHY? Beldin/Iris wrote a game (or tried and eventually succeeded) and he asked me what game he could do next. I suggested Tetris, which was met with a puzzled face and he thought it was too difficult. I started writing one, but I pissed off with after a few weeks and it left it in very bugg(er)ed state. Then along comes Zebedee and Sirius and I join Cybertek. Fireball writes ("scribbles" is a more apt description of the letter!) to me asking for examples of my work. This is a pity because I wiped 20 disks of things I did, so I was looking through my old source and graphics disks and what do I find, a 200k source file, 100k of graphics and 500k of music and sound effects. Change the graphics, re-write a lot of the source to make it faster and smaller, remove sound effects here and there, sprinkle an options menu and the source is now 90k long. The result is what you see before you now. It was a game virtually written in 4 days, more of an exercise in killing time than a competent piece of software. WHERE? In my room. HOW? Software used was Amos Pro 2 v2.00, Amos Pro Compiler, Cygnus Ed Professional v3, Deluxe Paint 4 AGA, Audio Master, Pro Tracker v3, FileMaster 2.2, DeliTracker 1.30 (Hey, MultiTasking music while programming and drawing), Power Packer v4.3, Kindwords v3, and there's more small utilities which I can't remember. Hardware used an A1200, 170 meg hard disk, monitor, printer and a stereo. WHEN? Sunday 24th April 1994 to Monday 28th April 1994. RULE OF CYBERTRIS. I don't think I need to tell you the instructions to this game, so let's just run through the features of this game that make it better than other Tetris clones. - Erm? Ah! Um?! That was quick. Now for the in-game keys and what the options in the menu do. While playing a game press "N" to turn the next block on or off, press "M" for the music or sound effects toggle. I was going to add "L" so the next block was a red 4 block, but that's just cheating and I would never add such a cheat mode would I!? Please notice that the F10 Quit button will hard reset the computer. I'm bored and it's less than 12 hours to the meeting, and I have loads to do. Watch out for my next Cybertek production which I hope to finished by the end of June. The Ultimate Rippers Guide. I have just taught Sirius/Cybertek how to rip music the unconventional way, so why not write what I know, do and use and release it. This will be dumped on to the Mostly Harmless BBS, and this is due to my personal hatred of Public Domain libraries. Anything to stop them or delaying them making money is the aim of this. Finally, greetings to all those of Cybertek who turned up at the meeting in June and unpleasant thoughts to those who didn't. You know who you are!!!! Slush/Cybertek.
