This one was rel'd at World of Amiga `98 and features some great fucking graphics in higher res modes and nice sounds, as well as Settlers/Civ type game play! The shit has been stripped from the CD and of course some things have been left out due to size constraints, including 60+ megs of awesome animated shit and unbelievably a 50 meg keyfile/serial marker on the CD for fucks sake! Thanx a million to DC Sweden for the mammoth DCC job on this one, and also a big "fuck ye" to SnIp3r for leeching/testing this shiate for me! Cheerz mates. *** INSTALLATION *** 1) Unpack all the lha's to a dir 2) Join the files by typing (in the dir containing the split files and JOINZ) : JOINZ DC-FOUND /DC-FOUND.lha i.e to unpack from HD1: TO HD2: use JOINZ DC-FOUND HD2:DC-FOUND.LHA 3) Unpack the joined/big lha to somewhere, and YOU MUST click/run the Foundation prefs program, otherwise IT WILL NOT RUN! YOU MUST SELECT SAVE FROM THE PREFS PROGRAM IN ORDER FOR FOUNDATION TO FIND THE CORRECT PATH TO ALL ITS FILES! 4) Run!!! Yippee...but DONT forget to Click the "Assign_Clickme!" icon before running the game or you'll just get a blank screen during the loading of the levels! Erm...also COPY OVER the Assign_clickme! icon and script from archive number 17 also! Dont forget!! *** WORDS ABOUT THE "PROTECTION" *** Ok, heres the lowdown... Basically the CD had a 50 meg keyfile that wasnt needed in order to play the game. Since this was snapped at WoA there's little chance the idea of this shit was to track suppliers etc. but I believe its to blacklist common releases for netplay when Burkey releases (so he says) updates including the TCP/serial link play etc. So, theres little point in faking a key or writing a maker that dumps a new 50 Meg key on yer HD (fuck that huh) for obvious reasons (one of which is it'd be easy to blacklist in the updates), but be assured as soon as updated exe's appear with netplay the various key stuffz will be fixed and the exe will be pumped out through the usual channels! So in conclusion, when a netplay/update exe appears either dont try it, or expect it not to work or do other less appetizing things! Watch this space so to speak ;) *** BUG NOTES *** Both myself and 2 friends tested and tried this release from the CD version and ALSO using the cut down DC version, and similar bugs were evident...these included... - Random graphic junking on the rendered level screens - Occasional freeze (twice) during ingame. - Uninitialized trap guru's (semi frequent during loads) - Occasional graphical glitching ingame like tress flying around etc - Very rare odd sound trash (garble sound) These bugs WERE ALL PRESENT on the ORIGINAL CD COPY!
