HIStory - Past, Present & Future 'Our two years anniversary' By Magic of Nah-kolor 11th of July 1997, On a sunny day, it was the 2nd of August 1994, me (Magic) and Sascha, who nowdays left the Scene and is making a trip around the world, visited Phantom/Applause at his place in Poland. There was only one problem. By accident we visited him one week to early, so he wasn't home.. What should we do? We took our list of Polish contacts, nearly 40 (!) and decited to call a few to see if we could visit them. If it was fate we didn't know at that time, but strangely enough the phone rang. This ment the awakening of a new era. The era of Dreamer and me.. In 1993 I joined Applause to be main editor of THING magazine. Trough my article writings this magazine worked it's way up in the top five of the international mainstream of Amiga diskmags. Applause, which is a Polish group, gained alot of reputation because of this. In 1994, Poland was a nation on it's own. Yet to be discovered by the western Amiga scene. This was a common topic in various diskmags in that time. The phone rang. Phantom's mother answered; The voice at the other end of the line was full of exitement. It was the voice of a unknown Amiga musician, the Polish Dreamer, who in that time was a member of Flying Cows. From than on, things got rolling, our early visit to Poland, was our 'luck' .. Dreamer invited us to his place, but since Poland is so big, we decited to spent the night at Python/Trsi his place, who would join us to our journey to Konin, Dreamer's hometown. When we arrived in Konin, a special party was orginized just for us. And people came over from all over Poland to the house of Dreamer. Many we knew already, since Poland always had our interest. Xtd who I already had the pleasure of meeting at The Party 3, or Norby, Lenin, Kopara and Sputnik. All very nice people. Dreamer told me he was very proud that he entered from nothing to the no2 spot as best musician in the Polish charts of THING. He let me hear some of his new tunes, and let me choose between two of them, which one he should enter at the music competition at the Inteloutside Party 1994. Ironicly the one I didn't choose later became 2nd at The Party 4, where Dreamer had his breaktrough and got the attention he deserved as international Amiga musician. All his 'crazy' tunes had many influence trough his already 9 year of piano playing experience.. Anyway, Dreamer also got 2nd at the intel outside party 1994. We later meeted again at The Party 4. I joined Mirage and became editor of Chit Chat, while Dreamer, not long after the intel outside party, founded TPD (Tom, Python, and Dreamer) which later added a 4th name. Lazur. The no1 graphician of this time according to all charts. TPDL got 6th in the intro competition at The Party 4. TPDL died, and Dreamer joined Masque, which he later left again early 1995. Mirage more or less died, and I became independant. In 1995 at The Somewhere In Holland Party 1995, Dreamer and I meeted again. He won the music competition while Lazur got 3th in the graphics competition. (On which I collected his price at the stage :) After the party we went to my place, and decited to found our own group; NAH-KOLOR. While Dreamer thought of the Nah part, I took KOLOR from a beachball which was lying around in my room, and still is lying around in my room anno domini 1997 :-) After Nah-kolor was formed, many things happened. We joined TRSI as a sub-group, we announced some heavy releases at The Party 1995, almost all diskmagazines got into the topic about the new sub-group of TRSI. Productions got delayed, Nah-kolor and TRSI splitted up at The Party 1995, after some massive chats between various members. Danny joined from Spaceballs at The Party 1995. The new Lazur slideshow 'WILD' got released by Nah-kolor & Anadune in mai 1996. Some SPEED issues got released by Qba, people joined up, people left. I released quite some articles in various magazines. Dreamer and Muffler and Lazur competed in various competitions. Most important ones are the Intel Outside party 95 and 96 and the Assembly 96. The Intel Outside Party 1996 was co-hosted by Nah-kolor aswell.. Muffler made his breaktrough with a module in ROM issue 7, which had an article about 'The Brother of Heatbeat' aswell. (Ofcourse written by me) Later Muffler contributed with a module in ROM issue 8 aswell. I started on the mOments module collection together with Hedgehog, which got released at the Gravity & Saturne party, held almost at the same date in the beginning of november 1996. The one thing I personally like most about mOments is that 90% of all modules and gfx used were made in the year mOments got released. I also became main-editor of Showtime, issue 4 got released with quite alot of articles by me, a module by Dreamer, a module by Muffler, and a title picture by Lazur. And things are still going strong today. Blaze took over the SPEED packmag from Qba and released already issue 29 last week. Nah-kolor got an own homepage. A huge demo is almost ready to release in Poland. A Nah-kolor party will be held at the 6th of September in Italie. And Lazur (Who these days joined Scoopex!) gave us permission to make an ONLINE version of the WILD slideshow. If i can remember correctly Nah-kolor always had quite impressive members during the two years we excist now. People who have been or still are in Nah-kolor, or are close friends of the Nah-kolor family are: * Norby,Qba,Blaze,Melon,Trash-Head,Szymon,Mars,Action,Magic,Case * Dreamer,Lazur,Yoga,Fame,Danny,Amiflash,Fra,Stun,Muffler,Python * Eb&Stone,Klod,Elis,Baldhorse,Infant,Hedgehog,Metal Designer Today at our two years of existence I can look back on quite a happy period. When we first started I can say that only few groups had such a potential to make some interesting releases as Nah-kolor. I am glad we can be added to this list. Furthermore we can look forward on several other releases aswell. Atleast they are planned to make. Just wait and see..
