A: It is just a short-cut for Lame Header and stands as opponent-example for all the Aminet files some VERY stupid lamers are sending around. Q: Hey, why do you do this? What's the reason ? A: Well, I cam to the conclusion to do something different while I was checking up the bbs upload lists around for some files in order to nuke them. I 've noticed too many files which are sent in as those people got 'em off the Net with a typical PC based name-cutting. You know, there exist files on the Net larger than 12 signs incl. extension and those are cutted automatically to 8 signs-POINT-3 signs-extension. Seems they aren't changed afterwards by some intelligent people to reflect a more or less smart file-name incl. the version number. But that was not the main reason ! The main reason was that I was so upset about all those dumb-asses crawling around which find it cool enough to stick their bloody bbs-names, lame handles or stupid crew-logos ONTO NOT-OWN-MADE-PRODUCTIONS they've got strictly from the net or on some public available support server! Q: [Interrupting] Ahh, so you maybe mean all those registered and cracked files , aren't you ? A: Nah, I can easily distinguish between those cracked files and the non-registered, but let me continue, please! Ok, I said those peeps put their own name (Whizzy, Cool, etc.) or even worser their crew-logo (Tex, RKM, AMB, TEK, EDGE, DIGITAL, etc.) above such productions they have not coded one single bit from! So I created the first headers in order to punish that lamers and prevent them from doing such lame things. Meanwhile I can be proud that atleast Cool, AMB, Digital have stopped that roughless actions and RKM luckily died because of that. TEK atleast lost their WHQ due to that (yeah, nice step from the sysop)! In some stupid cases a single dumb-head of the crew Lightforce showed the same behaviour with free available files which he got a.e. from the ITH ISDN-MASTER support site (Hi Al Bundy!) or releasing Term 4.7b. At the beginning I was calling the problem by the name and 've written the name of the bloody lamers in these headers. Later on I changed that re-action and put instead a single logo ontop which should fight that lameness. Even though Mac of Tek and some others still continue with that ugly shit. Maybe they will never learn.... Q: Yes, that explains those Aminet releases, but I've seen some cracked stuff, too. What's about that ? I mean those files signed with Lame Head Inc. and beginning with 'LH-' in their names. A: Right!!! You've got the point. After some time I recognized plenty of lame and useless releases of some crews or single guys which are allways cracking the same odd files! Offcause those files are updates, but do we need just another crack or keyfile for some tools for whom we ALLREADY HAVE WORKING KEY-MAKERS SINCE AGES !?!? I think not!!!! Q: Hmm, which productions and crews do you mean by all that accusations ? A: Ahh, you wanna get names. Jesus, here we go. The productions were Golded (each version since now) where the Decision keymaker is still working fine !!! The crews who did that have been HF in early days, DAT (still), LSD, DC and Crux (now called CBK) and some sort of single dudes I can't remember now. Luckily the most of these crews stopped that needless releases where just a cracked mainfile or a patch like LSD did atleast for the last 2 versions would reach the same effect instead of re-releasing the whole packet with 1 MB. Until Miami reached the 2.1 the DC keys and DAT keymaker worked perfect, but both crews sent out the whole packets again instead of a SINGLE MAINFILE INCLUDING THE KEYMAKER!!! That produced needless traffic and takes too much time and for the most guys also money to download those large packets after they've got the install-package from Aminet before. LSD did a fine job at the 2.1 version even though a small archive of 4 kb wich only includes the keys would have been enough here! So I have to blame a friend of mine this way, too! With the 2.1a release it was nearly the same crap - DC and DAT did it again in the same old way releasing the complete stuff again. Well, these examples were the most horrifying ones I can remember and there are many more. Just go and check out yourself. So I released in case of Golded one complete pack including two old and working keyfile versions and in case of Miami 2.1 just the keys themselves (type 1). Q: Ok, is there a last hint or some sort of solution for that situation ? A: Simply yes, indeed! I wanna encourage those crews and single dudes a) if the production is not OWN made - don't sign it as it were yours! (Cracked ones are changed and are an exception from that - see below) b) You won't get fame nor more callers by sticking a logo of your own or your fucking bbs as FILE_ID.DIZ onto the archives. (No, I don't mean those ID-Addies ! They are lame, too) c) if the archive is available at the net - a small crack patch (like those the Crack-Patcher by Preacher/CBK produces) or the changed mainfile with keys IS DEFINATELY ENOUGH!!! d) Why releasing stuff for which working keymakers are out since ages ? Just to gain more creditz ?! Baaah! And a last promise - until the last dude has noticed that - I 'll continue with releasing fine and useful Aminet tools with that headers and signing useless pseudo-registered archives with 'LH-'! Fight that crap! The Amiga scene is nearly dead so ONLY YOU CAN change that in a positive direction.
