He was being sued for $80,000 in damages. By who, I don't know - apparantly a company, or companies that make super nes games. - He called his lawyer who spoke with the company lawyer - An out of court settlement was negotiated - Eric agreed to: - pay $20,000 within the year - not run a bbs for 5 years - turn over all pirated software which the company or companies hold copyrights to - not discuss the terms of the settlement - The equipment was returned and apparantly nothing was even touched - it looks like the machine wasn't even booted according to the logs I was able to speak to him for about 10 minutes and he wasn't really in a talking mood. He told me if he gives details it could void the settlement (or so his lawyer tells him). I did ask him if he plans to run a bbs again and he says WHO CARES will be back sooner than people think. He is going to be smart this time and make the bbs impossible to trace back to him, and very secure. He just seems rather upset that he has lost his savings and has to get a second job just to pay for this shit. He also told me he still wants to release /X doors under BK and wants to continue supplying for ARC. I really miss the bbs.
