There are a lot of disk imaging programs available to the public. These days, the Amiga is not selling, why ? because there are no machines. The point that iGGY and myself tried to put across, was that by the groups cracking and encrypting disks, would not stop it from spreading. They talk about keeping lamers out of the scene, yet people like dalamer are still in it. So cock sure of himself, the facts are, as iGGY and myself said, it would bring the dalamers of the world, (wannabe elites) onto the scene and new groups releasing the Major titles. HELLFiRE were the onjly group that consistantly released the titles on the Amiga platform. Sure they made errors on cracking and released non-100% games. The fact was and is, iGGY supplies pretty damn quick, and not many, if any, can beat him. Dalamer wanted software developers to donate towards the groups not to crack the games and release them until 2 months after they appeared in the shops. This is commonly known in many courts, as a "Protection Racket". It is highly illegal, and more illegal than copying games or cracking games. He said he would not get anything out of it, that the groups would get around $400 not to crack and spread a game. This would help safeguard the Amigas future. With the demise of Commodore, then Escom, getting replacement chips for the machines, is not very easy. Sure he will say they are, but in the UK it most certainly is not. I attended the meeting as requested and the forst attempt, everyone was flooded off so it had to start again, then 15 minutes or so later, I and countless others were kicked from the channel. Yes Dalamer, you got me out of my bed, to come to a meeting where we spent 15 minutes or so listening to your comments, then get kicked. You slagged the groups which did not back your idea, and funnily enough, they were the groups that were releasing stuff at the time. As Prodigy proved, Upload times and dates can be editted online, so it looks like that group got it out first. The idea was good, the practicality of it all, senseless waste of everyones time and effort. If the Amiga dies, so be it. I will still have my Amiga and the games I bought for it. It does not matter to you, that a lot of the games that are released as full priced commercial software, should be released under a budget label. The only BBS that would benefit from all of the rescue plan, would be the one bbs, that ALL had to upload their releases too. There would be no need for a dream charts speed section for the Amiga. There is no need for a speed chart for any computer. At the end of the day, the boards will get that release at some point, so what the hell ? Who cares who gets it first and uploads it first ? You do! because without the groups and boards and traders competition, there would be no dream charts. Sorry, but yu could not organise a piss up in a brewery. The scene made the Amiga! the Amiga did not make the scene. It makes me sick, to see you begging the likes of ZINKO for his last months data for your charts.
