AWeb-II 3.4 Special Edition =========================== IMPORTANT --------- If you want to try this program before installing it, make sure you double- click the "MakeAssign" icon. If you fail to run this, headers of HTML pages will be shown in ugly blocky characters. By default this version uses the 'times' and 'courier' fonts in sizes that didn't came with your WorkBench. Matching fonts will be installed when you install this Special Edition. The user buttons will also fail to work as they will not find AWNPipe:. PICASSO 96 SOFTWARE ------------------- At the time of release of AWeb-II 3.4 SE, the Picasso 96 graphics software contains a known bug that might crash your system when viewing scaled images. If you experience crashes during the use of AWeb-II, we advise you to turn off progressive display in the image plugins. See the documentation of the image plugins for further details. This documentation can be found in the "AWebPlugin/Docs" drawer. INTRODUCTION ------------ AWeb-II is a fast and powerful World Wide Web browser for the Amiga computer. It supports virtually all widely used HTML including JavaScript. See the Docs/intro.html document for a list of features. This Special Edition is distributed as part of the Amiga Operating System version 3.9. It is NOT ALLOWED to distribute any file of this AWeb-II Special Edition package in any other way. REQUIREMENTS ------------ This Special Edition of AWeb needs: o OS 3.9 or better. o At least 3MB of memory as an absolute minimum. 4 MB or more is highly recommended. o Miami or another AmiTCP/IP compatible TCP product. THIS SPECIAL EDITION -------------------- This Special Edition shows pages exactly like the full version does, but many additional features are disabled in this version. Most important missing features are: - this version doesn't use multiple windows. Note that when a page has a link to another document in a new window, this version will not open a new window. The full version will. - this version doesn't read or save your hotlist. See the Docs/full.html document for a complete list of differences. DOCUMENTATION ------------- The archive contains partial documentation in HTML format. Press the HELP key when running the program to bring up the documentation.
