This is the start of History for the new auto-uploads 09-Jul-99 Since 0.1408: All outgoing packets are now in the new format. Still need to reformat incoming packets. Added new TCP packet creation method. Nothing uses it right now, need to re-write a few TCP routines to accomdate it. Pulled all Chat functions out of main source in preparation for multi-chat. After some thought, I've decided to completely re-write chat from scratch. This may take a while. The end result will be MUCH better, though. Started moving all debug and packet dumps to a new debug window. Tell me what you think of this monster! 10-Jul-99 Made some changes to the error window, allowed it to use var-args with vsprintf(). 15-Jul-99 Ok, this version is compiled with what little exists of the new chat funtions. But, a word of warning, DO NOT ATTEMPT CHAT WITH THIS VERSION!!!!!!!! You will either get some strange output added by the compiler (if you're lucky) or a big fat GURU (if you're not so lucky.) But this one CAN do filetransfer again. 18-Jul-99 Still working on the new TCP routines to support multi-chat. 18 Jul 1999 11:12:42 STRICQ 0.1451 (18.07.99) 18 Jul 1999 17:51:38 STRICQ 0.1452 (18.07.99) 18 Jul 1999 22:15:45 STRICQ 0.1452 (18.07.99) 19 Jul 1999 01:09:35 STRICQ 0.1452 (18.07.99) 19-Jul-99 Added the save to file function to the error window. 19 Jul 1999 02:38:27 STRICQ 0.1453 (19.07.99) 19 Jul 1999 02:54:17 STRICQ 0.1454 (19.07.99) 05-Aug-99 Fixed the problem with connecting with ICQ and the LOCAL host name is undefined. This problem should not prevent the client from connecting with the server. Changed the priority status of a few of the TCP debug lines, they should no longer cause the debug window to open. Just as a reminder: DO NOT ATTEMPT CHAT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! If you didn't realize it, the mailing list is back online, but you might need to re-subscribe. Heck, I don't even know if the thing ever stopped! 05 Aug 1999 20:01:35 STRICQ 0.1455 (19.07.99) By request: Added lots of debug output to the UDP socket connection process. The output will appear in the errors window only if the Show UDP Debug item is ticked. Note: You WILL need to resubscribe to the mailing list if you have not already done so! Oh yeah, Since v0.1451, STRICQ has required Texteditor.mcc to be installed. Fixed a small bug that might allow the new chat window to open via ARexx. Will probably still crash, though. 10 Aug 1999 12:14:57 STRICQ 0.1457 (07.08.99) 13 Aug 1999 23:39:47 STRICQ 0.1459 (13.08.99) Added 5 configurable auto-away status changes. Check out Prefs->Away-> Auto Away. Added an intialization window. 14 Aug 1999 00:46:09 STRICQ 0.1462 (14.08.99) Fixed a bug in the auto-away. 14 Aug 1999 01:28:31 STRICQ 0.1463 (14.08.99) 14 Aug 1999 23:20:44 STRICQ 0.1465 (14.08.99) 15 Aug 1999 08:41:40 STRICQ 0.1466 (14.08.99) 17 Aug 1999 20:48:27 STRICQ 0.1467 (14.08.99) 18 Aug 1999 06:55:26 STRICQ 0.1467 (14.08.99) The initialization window can now be resized while STRICQ is initializing and loading contacts. The new look chat window can now be opened via ARexx. I will add the toolbar images to the website next to the beta's link. Use this command: WINCONTROL 'WIN=CHAT' 'UIN=8083608' OPEN Attempting chat with a PC ICQ99a client will currently crash the ICQ client and generally brings down Windows in the process! :) 20 Aug 1999 00:28:32 STRICQ 0.1473 (19.08.99) 20 Aug 1999 13:40:46 STRICQ 0.1474 (20.08.99) Mirabilis has changed the format of at least one of the chat packets with the introduction of ICQ 99b. I've already compensated. Think I finally got all the packet problems squared away... 22 Aug 1999 12:47:43 STRICQ 0.1477 (22.08.99) 22 Aug 1999 14:10:17 STRICQ 0.1478 (22.08.99) 23 Aug 1999 20:40:29 STRICQ 0.1480 (23.08.99) 29 Aug 1999 00:26:48 STRICQ 0.1481 (23.08.99) 29 Aug 1999 01:06:47 STRICQ 0.1483 (29.08.99) 29 Aug 1999 02:51:56 STRICQ 0.1485 (29.08.99) 29 Aug 1999 22:26:52 STRICQ 0.1485 (29.08.99) 30 Aug 1999 19:23:49 STRICQ 0.1486 (29.08.99) Just added the remote end chat objects. They are created on the fly so be warned: When adding a third member to chat (in the future when it works, of course) the chat window will have to close then re-open. This is a requirement of MUI when changing window objects dynamically. 30 Aug 1999 23:25:05 STRICQ 0.1489 (30.08.99) 30 Aug 1999 23:48:07 STRICQ 0.1489 (30.08.99) 31 Aug 1999 21:21:09 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) 31 Aug 1999 21:38:55 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) 31 Aug 1999 22:11:02 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) 01 Sep 1999 19:15:26 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) Ok, now SINGLE chat SEND works correctly. Multi-chat is still considered 'undefined' at this point. But still a WARNING. DON'T USE CHATMODE! YOU WILL LOOSE RAM AND CAN STILL QUITE POSSIBLY CRASH IF YOU DO. 02 Sep 1999 09:40:38 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) 02 Sep 1999 17:51:24 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) 02 Sep 1999 18:36:49 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) 02 Sep 1999 21:07:03 STRICQ 0.1490 (30.08.99) 02 Sep 1999 21:41:16 STRICQ 0.1491 (02.09.99) 03 Sep 1999 00:00:16 STRICQ 0.1492 (02.09.99) 03 Sep 1999 00:15:16 STRICQ 0.1493 (02.09.99) 04 Sep 1999 09:54:29 STRICQ 0.1494 (03.09.99) Ok, single (or two-way) chat mode is fully working again. Its safe to use now just like before. Lots of debug output, if you want to see it, just turn on the Show TCP Debug in the errors window. Multichat (or three plus-way) chat mode is still in the works, but now the GUI fully supports the dynamic addition and deletion of chat objects from within a chat window. 04 Sep 1999 16:41:38 STRICQ 0.1495 (04.09.99) 04 Sep 1999 20:21:00 STRICQ 0.1496 (04.09.99) 05 Sep 1999 14:38:19 STRICQ 0.1497 (04.09.99) Now the scrollbars are working in the chat windows. 05 Sep 1999 23:42:25 STRICQ 0.1498 (05.09.99) 06 Sep 1999 00:08:14 STRICQ 0.1500 (05.09.99) I just upped STRICQ's priority to 1, if anyone has a problem with this, let me know. 06 Sep 1999 01:07:04 STRICQ 0.1501 (06.09.99) 06 Sep 1999 02:38:48 STRICQ 0.1502 (06.09.99) 06 Sep 1999 03:33:03 STRICQ 0.1504 (06.09.99) 06 Sep 1999 04:13:06 STRICQ 0.1504 (06.09.99) 06 Sep 1999 13:34:04 STRICQ 0.1505 (06.09.99) 06 Sep 1999 20:41:24 STRICQ 0.1506 (06.09.99) 06 Sep 1999 22:37:18 STRICQ 0.1506 (06.09.99) 07 Sep 1999 12:54:43 STRICQ 0.1506 (06.09.99) 17 Sep 1999 10:34:06 STRICQ 0.1506 (06.09.99) I put the long toolbar object in a virtual group. Let me know what you think about this. Still working on EndChat() problems. I can't get a clean or correct shutdown of chat and especially multichat. As you may have surmised, none of the toolbar buttons work. I will add them in after the core of chat is working better than it already isn't right now. At this time you CAN initiate multichat as long as STRICQ is talking to two (or more) PC clients and the chat is initiated STRICQ -> PC -> PC. BUT!!! The multi-chat MUST be shutdown in the exact opposite order that it was started in PC -> PC -> STRICQ. 17 Sep 1999 13:23:57 STRICQ 0.1507 (17.09.99) 17 Sep 1999 17:06:19 STRICQ 0.1508 (17.09.99) 17 Sep 1999 19:55:22 STRICQ 0.1509 (17.09.99) 18 Sep 1999 13:08:12 STRICQ 0.1509 (17.09.99) 18 Sep 1999 13:44:08 STRICQ 0.1510 (18.09.99) 18 Sep 1999 19:05:01 STRICQ 0.1510 (18.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 00:24:35 STRICQ 0.1511 (18.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 07:34:09 STRICQ 0.1514 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 10:00:26 STRICQ 0.1515 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 16:23:01 STRICQ 0.1516 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 20:11:35 STRICQ 0.1517 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 20:39:19 STRICQ 0.1518 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 21:52:41 STRICQ 0.1519 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 22:30:37 STRICQ 0.1520 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 22:51:26 STRICQ 0.1521 (20.09.99) 20 Sep 1999 23:37:38 STRICQ 0.1524 (20.09.99) The 'Join' button in the Chat Request window now works correctly when used to request a PC user to join a current chat session. This after many, many compiles, as you can see above. STRICQ still cannot join a multichat session. It can request PC users to join, but STRICQ cannot join a multichat already in progress. After all the headaches of getting the 'Join' button to work, adding this will be comparitively much easier. Ending a multichat session on STRICQ now works as expected as long as it is the PC user that exits the multichat session FIRST. STRICQ cannot properly shut down chat with more than one remote object in the window. 21 Sep 1999 00:43:09 STRICQ 0.1524 (20.09.99) Ok, Fixed the filetransfer 'Send' button not working. Just had to recompile the whole source tree again. Sometimes I make a drastic enough change to one source file and/or a header file that will make an already compiled module not want to work correctly. FYI, some of the versions between 1515 and 1520 would crash horribly if chat mode was attempted. This has, of course, been fixed. The chat window can no longer be opened via ARexx. This will be addressed later when multi-chat is finished. The chat window no longer needs to be closed when adding or removing remote chat objects. I finally read a bit deeper into MUIs autodocs. 21 Sep 1999 12:44:06 STRICQ 0.1524 (20.09.99) 21 Sep 1999 13:47:46 STRICQ 0.1525 (21.09.99) When invited, STRICQ can now join a chat already in progress. 21 Sep 1999 16:00:30 STRICQ 0.1525 (21.09.99) STRICQ can perform all modes of entering into chat/multichat. There still exists the problem of initiating chat shutdown, this is the next to be finished. 21 Sep 1999 22:03:43 STRICQ 0.1525 (21.09.99) 22 Sep 1999 12:10:34 STRICQ 0.1526 (21.09.99) STRICQ can now properly shutdown chat, no matter how many are in the session. 22 Sep 1999 16:11:25 STRICQ 0.1528 (22.09.99) 22 Sep 1999 20:47:29 STRICQ 0.1528 (22.09.99) 22 Sep 1999 22:00:20 STRICQ 0.1529 (22.09.99) 23 Sep 1999 09:44:33 STRICQ 0.1530 (22.09.99) 23 Sep 1999 09:46:32 STRICQ 0.1530 (22.09.99) 23 Sep 1999 10:30:46 STRICQ 0.1531 (22.09.99) 23 Sep 1999 14:47:58 STRICQ 0.1532 (23.09.99) 23 Sep 1999 21:45:26 STRICQ 0.1534 (23.09.99) 23 Sep 1999 22:38:17 STRICQ 0.1535 (23.09.99) Now the Bold, Italic, Underline, and Font color buttons work, but only for PC users!!! I've fired off an email to the author of TextEditor.mcc Incoming color, styles are not implemented yet. Don't complain about the location of the color chooser window, its the best I could do given MUIs abilities. 24 Sep 1999 00:53:55 STRICQ 0.1536 (24.09.99) 25 Sep 1999 14:37:32 STRICQ 0.1537 (24.09.99) 25 Sep 1999 16:59:45 STRICQ 0.1538 (25.09.99) 26 Sep 1999 19:50:46 STRICQ 0.1540 (26.09.99) 26 Sep 1999 21:11:51 STRICQ 0.1540 (26.09.99) 26 Sep 1999 21:49:57 STRICQ 0.1541 (26.09.99) Color and text styles for both outgoing and incoming chat should now work just fine. Let me know how it goes. Also, let me know if you have any problems with STRICQ changing screen colors. With this version of STRICQ, you should be able to register a new UIN again. Let me know about this one as well. 26 Sep 1999 22:25:59 STRICQ 0.1541 (26.09.99) 27 Sep 1999 17:36:07 STRICQ 0.1543 (27.09.99) 27 Sep 1999 20:23:42 STRICQ 0.1556 (27.09.99) Now the chat colors are customisable. Look in Prefs->Color->Chat Colors. Also, the chat colors should no longer cause the STRICQ screen colors to go haywire. Also, added a new color pref for the New User status. 27 Sep 1999 22:24:35 STRICQ 0.1559 (27.09.99) This version has a specific change that will catch negative UINs and dump the packet with a high priority causing the error window to open. Please send that output to me if/when you see it! I won't be adding anything new to chat mode for a while. Please give the current betas a good workout and report all problems with as much detail as possible. In other words: KEEP THE TCP DEBUG ON AT ALL TIMES WHEN USING CHAT MODE!!! 01 Oct 1999 21:55:37 STRICQ 0.1560 (09/27/99) 03 Oct 1999 02:33:05 STRICQ 0.1561 (10/01/99) 26 Nov 1999 16:14:04 STRICQ 0.1562 (10/03/99) 26 Nov 1999 21:15:28 STRICQ 0.1563 (11/26/99) 26 Nov 1999 21:42:25 STRICQ 0.1564 (11/26/99) I've CORRECTLY implemented the 'Visible To User' and 'Invisible To User' prefs options. They are in the individual user windows, User Info -> Prefs. In this version, you will need to click the 'Save' button to make the change stick around for the next time STRICQ is loaded. This will most likely be fixed in the next compile. 27 Nov 1999 13:36:05 STRICQ 0.1565 (11/26/99) I removed the debug info while clicking the Vis prefs ticks. Also, you don't need to hit the Save button unless you fear crashing. The change is noted and the UIN will save during program shutdown. I made some more internal changes to ensure that the Vis prefs are properly taken care of during the Add / Update process. Fixed the bug causing the SEEINVIS= config file option to have values other than 0 or 1. It was a %ld that should have been a %d. Fixed the bug that was causing crashes if you tried to close chat mode only moments before the remote side closed the chat. 27 Nov 1999 23:41:20 STRICQ 0.1566 (11/26/99) 28 Nov 1999 19:29:03 STRICQ 0.1567 (11/27/99) Ignore prefs are now completed with the exception of a default days ignored. Right now its hard coded for 30 days. GETVERSION ARexx command is added. Use the FULL switch to get the full text of the version string. The result is in ICQRC. GETVERSION FULL/S 28 Nov 1999 23:09:43 STRICQ 0.1570 (11/28/99) Fixed a bug with ignore that -1 was not interpreted as 'Never Ignore' and made the OK button in the edit window close the window as well. 28 Nov 1999 23:46:03 STRICQ 0.1571 (11/28/99) When selecting to ignore a UIN, the Edit Ignore window will now pop open. A quick note on the new Vis prefs: Currently, changing the ticks will not send any notification to the server right then. The only way to have the change take effect, at this time anyway, is to logoff and back on. Another full compile of the whole source tree as the GUI and the file transfer section are out of synch again. 29 Nov 1999 01:45:12 STRICQ 0.1572 (11/28/99) Double-click an entry in the Ignore list and the edit window will auto-open. Removed the auto reconnect code. If the server kicks your client offline, STRICQ will quietly remain offline. I have a plan to fix this that I will add in very soon now. Fixed another bug that causes problems while shutting down chat mode. 29 Nov 1999 15:05:21 STRICQ 0.1573 (11/29/99) Made a slight change that might allow for more TCP connection attempts to actually work. A listening socket will now be closed if a connect attempt fails to the same UIN. 30 Nov 1999 09:58:19 STRICQ 0.1574 (11/30/99) Fixed a bug in the Edit Ignore window that would cause the Nick of a UIN that was entered manually to be garbage. (ULONG != char *) Added a format specifier to the GETVERSION output so that only four digits will appear past the decimal (%.4f). Added a 'Cancel' button to the Edit Ignore window just in case the Ignore was done on accident. Fixed a bug in the prefs load that would cause an ignored UIN to drop off too early. An ignored UIN is not added to the Ignore list until the 'OK' button is clicked in the Edit window. Clicking 'Cancel' will either not add a new UIN to the list or abort any changes made when the 'Edit' button is clicked from the Ignore list page. Made another small change to help TCP connections. This should make TCP connections between clients on the same LAN possible. Caveat: Other clients must message STRICQ first. Fixed a bug in the parsing of the TCP_Init packet. This had no effect on STRICQ's operation up until today. :) 30 Nov 1999 20:24:36 STRICQ 0.1578 (11/30/99) Fixed yet another bug involving Chat mode shutdown. Started to add the UDP_ParsePacket() function to my icq.c and icq.h external sources. This will take awhile. I'm also starting to code in v5 of the UDP protocol as well. Again, this will take awhile. 02 Dec 1999 23:42:25 STRICQ 0.1579 (11/30/99) Added all incoming packets to the new external parsing routines. Made all necessary changes to handle UDP protocol version 5. Added the v5 encryption routines, which do not work yet... Still attempting to work out the v5 encryption problems... Added a cycle gadget to prefs to select which UDP protocol to use. 03 Dec 1999 14:15:31 STRICQ 0.1587 (12/03/99) The encryption was not broken, the v5 login packet itself was not created correctly. After fixing this, STRICQ was able to login to the server without problems. However, the new v5 packet parsing routines aren't actually in place yet, so a crash is the most likely result at this time. Temporarily removed the ability to make a new UIN. This will be added back when I figure out how to do it using v5. 03 Dec 1999 16:46:23 STRICQ 0.1589 (12/03/99) You probably don't want to use the next few versions while I add in the new packet parser. Neither v2 or v5 will work. 03 Dec 1999 18:46:32 STRICQ 0.1591 (12/03/99) 03 Dec 1999 22:40:07 STRICQ 0.1593 (12/03/99) 03 Dec 1999 23:46:22 STRICQ 0.1595 (12/03/99) 04 Dec 1999 01:06:44 STRICQ 0.1597 (12/03/99) 04 Dec 1999 02:02:35 STRICQ 0.1599 (12/04/99) 04 Dec 1999 13:25:04 STRICQ 0.1603 (12/04/99) 05 Dec 1999 13:18:05 STRICQ 0.1605 (12/04/99) 05 Dec 1999 20:11:01 STRICQ 0.1612 (12/05/99) 05 Dec 1999 22:38:30 STRICQ 0.1617 (12/05/99) 06 Dec 1999 00:24:28 STRICQ 0.1620 (12/05/99) Most packets are re-enabled. Making a new UIN and searching for other UINs are still not enabled. Using Version 2, there should not be much problem except for the two items still above that are not re-enabled. Using v5 is still very problematic and I'm still attempting to ferret out the reason. 06 Dec 1999 14:12:26 STRICQ 0.1623 (12/06/99) UDP Version 5 is now working! User/UIN searches should now work, but you still won't be able to refresh your own info from the server. That's the next fix. 06 Dec 1999 15:41:53 STRICQ 0.1626 (12/06/99) 06 Dec 1999 19:50:50 STRICQ 0.1626 (12/06/99) 06 Dec 1999 23:54:10 STRICQ 0.1627 (12/06/99) Creating a new UIN is still disabled. This will be brought back ASAP. Clicking the 'Refresh' button in a user's window will cause the info to be stored DIRECTLY into that user's window and internal storage. The User Info window will no longer open. If the user is a 'New User', this will cause the user to be added to your contact list. Searches using Email, Nick, First or Last name will work correctly when using UDP version 2. They do NOT work under UDP version 5. I will add the new v5 search packets very soon. UIN Searches from the the Incoming Message window, Add Contact window, Search Results window, and Received Contacts window will all work and will open the User Information window like before. 07 Dec 1999 00:47:22 STRICQ 0.1629 (12/07/99)
