1. Introduction to the HTDS distribution ======================================== This file describes the distribution of all parts of the HyperText-Datatype-System. I decided to change the distribution scheme for HTDS. From now on there doesn't exist a version number for the whole HTDS distribution. Last Aminet release was V40.10 and last version release through the support Webpage was V40.12. Thus the archives HTDS.lha, HTDS_0x0.lha and HTDS_SDK.lha are obsolete. Each datatype of HTDS is released in its own archive now. This file descibes now, which datatypes archive is required and which optional archives exists. Currently HTDS exists of one base datatype and several sub datatypes. So each sub datatype requires the base datatype. Also all documentation is written in the HyperGuide format, thus you need this datatype to read the documentation. Also there are some support handlers and tools, which come in a separate archive. For example the root-handler.lha archive contains a AmigaDOS handler, which offers a root: pseudo device for listing all available assign and volumes using normal directory system calls. 2. HTDS related stuff from other authors ======================================== There exists two sub datatypes of the hypertext.datatype written by Swen Stullich. First the exe.datatype, which gives you information about a executable and second the iff.datatype, which can show the contents of allmost all IFF files. Look on Aminet util/dtype! 4. Short description of each archive ==================================== hypertext_dtc.lha (233851 Bytes) : hypertext.datatype V40.22 ------------------------------------------------------------- This archive contains the base datatype of HTDS. It consists out of the datatype binaries optimized for all m68k processor types, the basic documentation, catalogs for the datatype, some arexx-scripts and developer informations for writing subdatatypes of the hypertext.datatype. hguide_hdtc.lha (142601 Bytes) : hyperguide.datatype V40.18 ------------------------------------------------------------ This archive contains the AmigaGuide compatible hyperguide.datatype. It consists out of the datatype binaries optimized for all m68k processor types, the documentation of the datatype and of all support commands and attributes of the HyperGuide document format. Also there are the default macro files for HyperGuide format, the developer informations and some examples HyperGuide documents. 5. Installation =============== Each archive of the HTDS distribution comes with a installer script for the Amiga International Installer utility. Because of the new distribution scheme you have to install each datatype separately. Perhaps in future there will be a one install script for all datatypes. But the installer script recognices standard choices made by you. Such like main datatypes dir, CPU type, Rexx script dir, etc. 6. Archive listings =================== The following listings shows the contents of each HTDS archive. If your archive contains some other files or some files are missing you have not the original archive released by the author. So check Aminet or the above mentioned Webpages.
