@NODE WhatItIs "CxBar/What is this program for?"
@{LINDENT 3}
This program controls all commodities in your system. It is an
alternative for the normal Exchange and uses the @{" MagicUserInterface " link MUI}
by Stefan Stuntz.

The difference between C='s (or AT's) Exchange and @{b}CxBar@{ub} is that @{b}CxBar@{ub}
displays the commodities as buttons (cycles) in a horizontical or
vertical (switchable!), one-line (bar) or one-row virtual group.
Every button has a help-bubble which shows the title and the
description of the commodity and informs you if it has a window which
can be shown and hidden ("GUI: YES" or "GUI: NO").

Also you can turn on a @{"size-gadget" link Menus} to size the window and a drag-
gadget to change the window's position.
The size-gadget appears on the right or bottom and the @{"drag-gadget" link Menus} on
the left or top.
You can also have the window the normal/intuition windowborder incl.
all @{"bordergadgets" link Menus}.

@{b}CxBar@{ub} has also some @{"arexx commands" link ARexx} to control the commodities via
arexx and is localizied!

The help-bubble of @{b}CxBar@{ub} looks like this:
       ____________________________________
      /                                    \\
     | CxBar 37.20 (26.04.97) by T. Igracki |
     | A new Exchange clone.                |
     |                                      |
     |                GUI: YES              |
      \\___  _______________________________/
          \\ \\
           \\ \\
            \\/

If you click on a button (left mouse) a popupmenu will be shown where
you can select one of the following commands/actions:

    ----------
   |  Remove  |  -> remove/kill the commodity (w/o requester!)
   |  Disable |  -> deactivate the commodity
   |  Enable  |  -> activate the commodity
   |   Hide   |  -> hide the commodity/window
   |   Show   |  -> show/popup the commodity/window
   | Exchange | -> the name of the commodity, no function
    ----------

If the menu entry @{"Options/Toggle Activity?" link Menus} is selected, then the popupmenu
looks like this:

    ----------
   |  Remove  |
   |  Toggle  | -> toggle the activity
   |   Hide   |
   |   Show   |
   | Exchange |
    ----------

If a commodity didn't has a window/GUI to popup/hide the entries @{b}Hide@{ub}
and @{b}Show@{ub} won't be there!

If a commodity is inactive the name will be shown in italic style.

Hint:
  If you have a three-button-mouse, you can use the middle button to
  scroll the buttons to the left or right!
  If not set @{"Option/Scrollbar?" link Menus}.

-------      --------
quit         FORCE/S
hide
deactivate
show

info         ITEM/A
help         FILE/A

Commands for application "Exchange":

Command      Template
-------      --------
CX           NAME/A,SHOW/S,HIDE/S,ON=ENABLE/S,OFF=DISABLE/S,KILL=REMOVE/S
CxList       VERBOSE/S
CxGet        NAME,TITLE/S,DESCR/S,ENTRIES/S

@{LINDENT 0}
For the standard commands please see the mui docs.

Commands for application "Exchange":

CX NAME/A,SHOW/S,HIDE/S,ON=ENABLE/S,OFF=DISABLE/S,KILL=REMOVE/S
---------------------------------------------------------------
@{LINDENT 3}
The command @{b}CX@{ub} send the commodity specified by the parameter @{b}NAME@{ub} one
of the following commands:

  SHOW : pop up the window (if it has one)
  HIDE           : hide the window
  ON or ENABLE : enable the commodity
  OFF or DISABLE : disable the commodity
  KILL or REMOVE : remove the commodity

If more then on of these parameters are given, then only the first (in
the above order) will be used!

NAME can contain AmigaDOS-Pattern, and all matching names will receive
the command! The name is compared with no case and if it has spaces
you have to quote the name or use wildcards!

If an error occured, maybe you forgot the NAME or the NAME doesn't
exists, the ARexx variable RC will contain a number unlike 0.

Examples:

  CX exchange show --> popup @{b}CxBar@{ub}s window
  CX #? show --> popup the window of all commodities!
  CX #? hide --> hide the window of all commodities!
  CX #? off --> disable all commodities!
  CX exch#? show kill --> only popup the window of all
                          commodities matching this pattern.
                          They don't get killed, cause SHOW will
                          be checked first!
@{LINDENT 0}
CxList VERBOSE/S
----------------
@{LINDENT 3}
The command @{b}CxList@{ub} is used to get a list of all currently running
commodities.
If the parameter @{b}VERBOSE@{ub} is specified, then the list will contain
more infos, not only the names. The names will be also quoted.

The ARexx variable RESULT (only if you called "OPTIONS RESULTS"
before!) will contain the result of the command.

Examples:

  Here is the output of @{b}CxList@{ub} on my system:

  Directory Opus 5
  EasyCED
  Exchange
  Executive
  Magic Menu
  MCP
  ModePro
  OMouse
  OMouse.gui
  OOL
  Scout
  ScreenClock
  YACE

  And this is the output of @{b}CxList VERBOSE@{ub}:

  "Directory Opus 5" GUI Active
  "EasyCED" NoGUI Active
  "Exchange" GUI Active
  "Executive" NoGUI Active
  "Magic Menu" GUI Active
  "MCP" GUI Active
  "ModePro" GUI Active
  "OMouse" GUI Active
  "OMouse.gui" GUI Active
  "OOL" GUI Active
  "Scout" GUI Active
  "ScreenClock" GUI Active
  "YACE" GUI Active

@{LINDENT 0}
CxGet NAME,TITLE/S,DESCR/S,ENTRIES/S
------------------------------------
@{LINDENT 3}
The command @{b}CxGet@{ub} returns the TITLE or DESCRiption from one specified
commodity or the number of ENTRIES of all commodities in your system.

NAME can contain AmigaDOS-Pattern, and all matching names will receive
the command! The name is compared with no case and if it has spaces
you have to quote the name or use wildcards!
This option has to be specified if you use the option TITLE/S or
DESCR/S!

The ARexx variable RESULT (only if you called "OPTIONS RESULTS"
before!) will contain the result of the command.

Examples:

  @{b}CxGet Exchange TITLE@{ub}
  --> CxBar 37.20 (26.04.97) by T. Igracki

  @{b}CxGet "exc*" TITLE@{ub}
  --> CxBar 37.20 (26.04.97) by T. Igracki

  @{b}CxGet "exc*" DESCR@{ub}
  --> A new Exchange clone.

  @{b}CxGet "*opus*" TITLE@{ub}
  --> İ1996 Jonathan Potter & GPSoftware

  @{b}CxGet ENTRIES@{ub}
  --> 13
