@NODE FEATURES "Features"

@{b}Screennotify@{ub}

This program supports the screennotify.library written by Stefan Becker. You can get it from Aminet. Whenever
Workbench is closed, the program gets notified of it and closes it own window also. This way you won't get that
annoying requester saying 'please close all windows'. Whenever the workbench screen is opened the program opens
it own window. This feature is optional and depends on the presence of the library. Test it out, it's great.

@{b}Hotkeys@{ub}

Some system hotkeys can now also be changed. Those for standard system requesters and for cycling screens.
This is not a hack but merely an extended usage of the icontrol pref file.

@{B}Magic User Interface@{ub}

Well you love it or you hate it. I love it !!!

@{B}CLI@{UB}

MUI-IControl can be started from CLI. It uses almost the same arguments as the standard icontrol program. It also
quits when it receives a ctrl-c signal.

@{B}Online help@{ub}

Usefull, isn't it ?

@ENDNODE

@NODE MISC "Miscellaneous"

	@{b}Screen Menu Snap@{ub}

Screen Menu Snap is provided for users who work with screens that are larger than the monitor's display area. Normally the workbench menus appear at the top left corner of the screen. If the left-most side of the screen is not visible, Screen Menu Snap shifts the Workbench screeb so that the menus are still accessible. The screen shifts only while the menu button is held down.

	@{b}Avoid Flicker@{ub}

The Avoid Flicker option prevents a back screen from becoming interlaced when the front screen is pulled down to reveal it. The default for this option is on.

	@{b}Mode Promotion@{ub}

The Mode Promotion gadget controls the software de-interlacing feature of Amiga with the AGA chip set. Selecting Mode Promotion allows NTSC and PAL screens opened by applications to be promoted to a noflickering display mode. We recommend that you turn this option off when doing video work. For more information about Mode Promotion, see book 'Workbench chapter 7'

	@{b}The Text Gadget Filter@{ub}

The Text Gadget Filter allows control characters to be recognized as such when entered into text gadgets. A control character is a key combination (usually Ctrl and an alphabetical key) that performs a certain function.

The standard control characters for text editing are:

CTRL+M	Same as pressing Resturn
CTRL+H	Deletes one character to the left of the cursor (same as Backspace)
CTRL+X	Deletes the entire line
CTRL+U	Deletes all characters to the left of the cursor
CTRL+K Deletes all characters from the cursor to the end of the line
CTRL+A	Moves the cursor to the beginning of the line
CTRL+Z	Moves the cursor to the end of the line

You can insert control characters into the text gadget whether filtering is turned on or not by pressing CTRL+LEFT AMIGA along with the desired alphabetical key. For example; to enter CTRL+M into the text gadget, press CTRL+LEFT AMIGA+M.

Note : In certain windows with serveral text gadgets, pressing Tab moves the cursor to the next text gadget. In these windows, even if the Text gadget filter is off, you must still press LEFT AMIGA+TAB to enter a TAB into the next gadget.

@NODE MENUS "Menu"

	@{b}Project Menu@{ub}

The following Project menu options let you save the editor settings to a specific file and open previously saved files:

@{b}Open@{ub} Loads the information from a specified preset file.
@{b}Save As@{ub} Specify the preset in which to save the currently displayed settings. the requester provides a default file name in the Presets drawer. Change this to a different name if you have more than one preset for that editor.
@{b}About@{ub} Shows some information about the program.
@{b}Quit@{ub} Exits the editor without performing any changes. The same as Cancel gadget.

	@{b}Edit Menu@{ub}

The Edit menu options allow you to restore previously used settings or the default settings. The options are :

@{b}Reset to@{ub}	Returns the editor settings to the system default settings.
@{b}Defaults@{ub}	Returns the editor settings to the last settings you saved with the Save gadget (not the Save As item).
@{b}Restore@{ub} Returns the editor to the settings displayed when you opened the editor first.

	@{b}Settings Menu@{ub}

The Settings menu contains the Create Icons ? item that allows you to save project icons for the preset files. For example, if you save printer specifications to the SYS:Prefs/Presets/Printer.pre file, an icon for the file appears in the Presets window. Double-click on the icon to activated the file's settings.

@NODE ABOUT "About"

	@{b}The MUI-IControl Editor@{ub}

MUI-IControl lets you change system settings, such as screen drag qualifier key or reseting the text gadget filter. It gives you also the possibility to change some hotkeys.

	@{b}Magic User Interface System@{ub}

As you probably can see this progam is writting using the MUI system. It's very good package especially on fast computers with high resolution monitors. It simply rocks then. It's also a very easy to use interface with a great configuration system and for coding it's a joy. It's writting by Stefan Stuntz.

	@{b}MuiBuilder@{ub}

A very good extension for Mui. With this program you can create very fast a good Mui interface with menus and notification. It's giftware and written by Eric Totel.

@NODE SCREEN_DRAG "Screen Drag"

	@{b}Screen Drag@{ub}

The Screen Drag gadget specifies other keys that can be used in addition to, or in place of, the left Amiga for dragging the workbench screen. This is useful if, for example, an application uses left Amiga and the selection button for other functions.

The available keys are Shift, Ctrl, left Amiga, and Alt. To select a key, click on its check box.

If you select Ctrl, you must hold down Ctrl to drag the screen. If Ctrl and Shift are selected, you must hold down Ctrl and Shift to drag the screen

@ENDNODE

@NODE BUTTONS "Control Buttons"

	@{b}Save@{ub}

MUI-IControl saves your preferences to disk, (It goes in the ENVARC: directory) and it uses it.

	@{b}Use@{ub}

MUI-IControl uses your preferences (It goes in the ENVARC: directory).

	@{b}Cancel@{ub}

MUI-IControl leaves without changes anything.

@ENDNODE

@NODE KEYS "Important Hotkeys"

These keys have to be pressed together with the Left Amiga Key.

	@{b}WorkBench To front@{ub}

It makes your workbench screen come to the front. It puts it in front of all your other screens.

	@{b}Screen To Back@{ub}

Pushes the front-most screen into background. The second screen becomes no first.

	@{b}Requester False@{ub}

Pressing this combination is the same as selecting the 'Cancel' Button in a standard system requester

	@{b}Requester True@{ub}

Pressing this combination is the same as selecting the 'Ok' Button in a standard system requester

	@{b}Note@{ub}

In the original IControl preference editor, their isn't a function to set these keys, probably Ol' Commodore didn't think it was usefull to include these shortcuts. This is no hack or whatever, it is just a field that's being changed in the preference file and iprefs seems to process them good. It's 100% System friendly.

@NODE MUIBUILDER "MuiBuilder"

Introduction
************

   Thanks for trying MUI-Builder !!!

   MUI-Builder is a tool that I hope you find to be user-friendly. It
is, however, far from perfection.

   Please feel free to send me all your ideas and opinions about this
software so it may evolve in the way you'd like.

   With MUI-Builder, you'll be able to write @{b}MUI@{ub} applications without
writing lines of source code nor knowing anything about @{b}MUI@{ub} functions'
syntax (even though MUI is simple in itself).

   MUI-Builder's aim is to let you create a graphic interface without
technical problems, and with no more effort than thinking about your
final goal.

   At the beginnning, I wrote this program only for my own needs and
for learning how to use MUI. MUI is a wonderful tool written by Stefan
Stuntz

   I hope you find this program as useful as I've already found it.

Advantages of MUIBuilder
========================

   Many people will wonder about the usefulness of this program, as MUI
is simple to program in the first place.

   The advantages that I and all the beta-testers have found in using
MUI-Builder follow:

  1. MUI-Builder is a simple way to quickly learn the principles of MUI
     programing by reading the generated source code.

  2. MUI-Builder is a sort of MUI interpreter. You are able to test the
     look of your application's GUI and see how the result will appear
     in real time.

  3. MUI-Builder offers the user a great flexibility in source code
     generation. You will be able to select precisely which object code
     you want to generate, with or without the declarations,
     initializations, localization ...

  4. You can finally build the online help of your application directly
     from the application builder.

  5. It is the very first builder that provides for easy localization !

  6. In this new version appear fantastic :) new functions, that you
     have never seen before in similar tools on Amiga. It is now
     possible to build the events notifications directly from the
     interface builder AND TO TEST THEM.

best gifts you can send to me ! If you use MUIBuilder, i would be
happpy if you write it in your documentation ...

   Don't hesitate at all to write me : I absolutely want to know if
further developments of MUI-Builder will be really useful and
appreciated.

   Please don't send files at this e-mail address. Just write a
