Alternate Display Drivers for AmigaDos

1. Description
--------------

In this archive, you will find drivers for NTSC Amigas.  The question I want
to answer before you continue is why would I want alternative drivers for
Workbench?

Have you ever wanted to see more than 256 colors on workbench screens?  OR
do you want Ham Icons?  I have the answer - Video-6.

The set of driver will force Workbench to open on a Ham6 or Ham8 Screen.
Here is a complete breakdown of the drivers:

2. How To Install
-----------------

Copy the desired file from the presets drawer (of this disk) to
sys:prefs/env-archive and rename it ScreenMode.prefs

Reboot the computer

3. Caveot Emptor
----------------

To change to another Ham mode, just copy the desired mode file to the
drawer specified in step 2.  Don't use the Screen Mode editor, as you
will loose the ham aspect of the screen.

Icons will loose their normal appearance, this is due to a shortened
color map and the bitwidth of Ham Colors.  Use ImageFX or a similar
program to correct this.

Included are some ImageFX Rexx macros to create Icons and Backdrops.

5. Final Notes
--------------

A driver for OCS (Old Chip Set) Amiga users is included.  Note that you
need Kickstart/Workbench 3.0 or higher to use this package.  This drives
workbench in 320x200x6Ham (4096 colors), ugly, but a cool thing to brag
to your friends about!  Enjoy.
