ScapeMaker 3.0 is so completely rewritten that you should either - 1. Try the program and simply find that it is completely intuitive OR 2. Try the program and use the manual as a guide to its operation There is no short way to go over all the changes, but here are a few: 1. SM3.0 has its own screen with pushbutton interface and TWO visible landscape buffer/display regions. 2. Some of the names of functions are changed for clarity only (e.g. the MakeDEM function used to be called GRAB the Region function used to be called SET AREA the X (constant for addition) value used to be called MESA 3. The 3 user interfaces (menus, buttons, and ARexx) are completely consistent. That means when you push a button its corresponding menu item gets checkmark set or removed appropriately, and vice versa. 4. You can now make and use VistaPro LARGE DEMs. Just press the 514x514 DEM size button or use the 514x514 menu option or SIZE 514 ARexx command. 5. There is no explicit Double Expose Mode. Because you can simply add any two DEMs together, there's no need for Double Expose as a separate Mode. 6. You can generate any linear combination of two DEM files including the ones you create. By using Clear, Make, AddDEM, SubDEM, Add X, Sub X, Scale, and UnScale, you can generate any RESULTDEM = S * ANYDEM + X where S is the Scale factor and X the constant level. This represents a big jump in general DEM combination functions in SM3.0 compared to the limited ones in SM2.0. 7. The program now utilizes the 2.04 ASL file requester IF you're: a. running 2.x and asl.library is in libs: OR b. running a 1.3/2.x rom switcher and asl13.library is in libs: On a stock 1.3 machine, the program uses the MegageM file requester. 8. This program should run correctly on an A4000. I'd like feedback on this! I hope you like the convenient new interface and the increased capabilities of ScapeMaker v3.0.
