AWeb 0.84

Fixed bugs:
- Hotlist maintenance window didn't open for the second time after it was closed.
- Showed binary data as text.
- Cancelling the save requester could cause a crash.
- Left and right aligned images in a centered or right aligned text section were misaligned.
- Re-thought the part of the table layout algorythm that caused the recent problems.
- Mouse activity (links, form fields) in table caption was ignored.
- When history, hotlist or cahchebrowser window was opened and closed, then change of screenmode opened them again, and crashed the history window.
- Opened requester "Please insert volume INET:" when trying to open tcp library.
- Using cursor key in empty text input field could cause a hit.
- Clicking in already active text input field misplaced the cursor.
- After closing a window its ARexx port wasn't removed.
- Sometimes the window contents was rendered on top of earlier contents.

AWeb 0.83

Fixed bugs:
- When a <TEXTAREA> field appeared within a table, the scroller was misplaced.
- If a frameset COLS or ROWS spec containes only pixel sizes, they weren't expanded to fill the entire window, and the remainder of the window wasn't cleared.
- Incorrect distribution of minimum widths over spanned table columns caused columns to become too narrow this time...
- Hits when retrieving file from the cache without a MIME type.
- After loading of image errored or was cancelled, a click on the unloaded image icon didn't reload the image.
- If inlined image has no known MIME type, and happens to start with readable text (like "GIF89a" followed by hex 0A (newline)), it was displayed as text.
- A frameset document with no frames didn't clear the window.
- With backgrounds off, pointing to background showed url of image but after clicking on it strange things happened.
- Didn't recognize Netscapes ALIGN values like ABSMIDDLE.
Put back support for background sounds. Now both background sound and hyperlinks to audio files both obey the MIME/External programs settings.
Added action chooser to browser settings/MIME page.
Added support for "external program with pipe".
Added console window setting (program settings/programs page) for spawned external programs.
Default creation of table cells upon data outside table cells restricted to printable data, so a single misplaced <P> won't mess up the table layout.
Made some improvements regarding speed and memory usage.

AWeb 0.82

Fixed bugs:
- When a list type <SELECT> field appeared within a table, the scroller was misplaced.
- After deleting characters in a text input form field, spurious characters were included in the sent form data.
- The "file exists; overwrite/append/etc" requester left a lock on the file.
- Bullets of ordered lists were incorrectly aligned at the first layout of a document.
- <BODY BACKGROUND=""> with empty url name caused hits and crash.

Fixed bugs:
- Enforcer hits when loading images in current, turning background on, etc.
- Enforcer hits on <UL SRC=xxx> <LI>
- Links in centered or right aligned text were not always recognized when pointed to.
- <UL>, <LI> etc didn't terminate previous paragraph.
- Scrollbar was very jerky while loading
- Background image was flushed when flushing nondisplayed images; didn't reappear after screen mode change, etc.
- Shift-click and popup menu didn't work for background images.

Added support for frames.
Now adds default "IMAGE/*" MIME type when converting from the 2.1 format settings if it isn't there yet, because it's needed for inlined images.

AWeb 0.56

Fixed bugs:
- Didn't always correctly follow SGML's rule of skipping a newline immediately after a tag.
- Left-aligned image followed by <BR> on its own in a table cell caused hit and strange layout.
- Very long paragraphs didn't show up correctly. (Due to a documented bug in TextLength() OS function.)
- Did send a Referer: header when browsing anonymously, or coming from file://localhost/.
- Blank lines could cause excessive whitespace after a relayout if the next line started with <SUP>.
- Crashed when trying to add to the hotlist a page that has an excessive long title.
- It was impossible to reload an errored image.
- When following a link to a name in the same document, the document was layed out again, making it slow.
Added Host: HTTP request header because some servers (like *.demon.co.uk) will need this soon.
Finally found (and fixed) the bottleneck that caused loading of long pages to get slower and slower during the load.
Re-introduced the busy pointers when doing a long task.

AWeb 0.55

Fixed bugs:
- Table cells with WIDTH attribute could cause the table to become too narrow.
- After change of screen mode, images weren't reprocessed automatically.
- Going back while a page is being loaded didn't clear the progress gadget, and could display garbage in it.
- Going back to a page that is still being loaded didn't work until the next block of data was received, making it impossible to go beyond that page in history.
- Many things (image loading, links, text search) didn't work for the contents of <CAPTION>.
- Empty tables (like <TABLE BORDER=nn></TABLE>) messed up the display.
- A tag that causes vertical whitespace immediately after <TABLE> messed up the display if also the </TABLE> tag was missing.
- If the last element before a line break in a centered or right-aligned section was an ALIGN=LEFT or ALIGN=RIGHT object, text on that line was misplaced.
- Images and other non-text elements could overlap right-aligned objects.
Cache and temporary files for image/x-xbitmap type objects now always get a .xbm extension.
Beta versions only: Added ARexx command: HTTPDEBUG ON/S. Turns the HTTPDEBUG debug switch on or off, default is off unless the ON switch is set in the command.

Fixed bugs:
- Fixed hit on startup, and a possible other hit in the cookies flush function.
- A tag that involves vertical spacing (like <Hn>) between <TABLE> and <TR> caused a crash.
- Division truncation errors could cause table cells to overlap in case of COLSPAN or ROWSPAN.
- A left aligned image in a table cell could cause subsequent text to overlap the next cell.
- Certain tags (like <CENTER>) would cause an ugly vertical whitespace when used at the start of a document.
- The "hot zone" and the ALT text for an unloaded image were extended into the HSPACE and VSPACE borders.
- <BLOCKQUOTE> at the start of a document didn't indent.
- If a client-side or server-side image map was scaled, the coordinates were not converted from the (unscaled) image coordinates to the (scaled) map coordinates.
- Fixed hits when trying to close the screen while a system requester is open.
- Program: palette settings gadgets didn't act like the way they should.
If a misbehaving server returns a 302 (moved) status on a POST request and resubmitting the POST request returns a 501 (not implemented) because the new URL is just a document, AWeb now retries the new URL again in a GET request.
Removed flicker from the animation gadget.
Removed the condition that a BGCOLOR or BACKGROUND must be present to show coloured text.
Now grayscale palette can be loaded also on a 8 or 16 colour screen.
Going back or forward to an errored document now redisplays the error immediately instead of trying to fetch the document again.
Finally added warning in quit requester if transfers are still going on.

Fixed bugs:
- Printing a document longer than a page didn't work on page oriented printers.
- Nondisplayed images weren't recognized as nondisplayed. 'Keep minimum free' and 'flush nondisplayed images' didn't work.
- Search function didn't find spaces in preformatted text.
- Didn't copy the last path entry when spawning a command, and caused a hit if path list was empty.
- Didn't delete the icon if a download was cancelled.
- Settings windows didn't refresh or respond to resizing when a requester is open.
- Sometimes text next to floating image wasn't displayed.
- The cachebrowser crashed in some countries.
- Following a link to another location in the same document caused the document to be retrieved again if it was the result from a POST form.
- Program: palette settings, pens were all set to a bogus colour in the default settings.

Improved table layout algorithm. Should deal better with inconsistent table cell widths.
<IMG WIDTH=nn HEIGHT=nn> are now also used if the image is loaded and is smaller than the given size. The image is not scaled (because of substantial technical problems involved) but an extra border is added.
Now treats invalid &#nn; entities as space (tolerant mode).
Now renders <BLOCKQUOTE> with left and right indent.
Added a margin around the document (like NS, MS do).
Added support for <BODY LEFTMARGIN=nn TOPMARGIN=nn>.
Added option to load grayscale palette instead of colours (looks better on screens with little colours).
Added "no proxy for these sites" list.
Made several improvements in the area of speed and memory usage:
- Reading the cache at startup is faster.
- Large tables are parsed much faster and take up about 25% less memory.
- Now uses a separate memory pool for each document so flushing the document really returns the memory.

Fixed bugs:
- Dashed underlining pattern wasn't shifted when doc was horizontally moved, so new dashes could be rendered over the gaps.
- When scrolling, sometimes the topmost line of pixels of an image or border disappeared.
- When scrolling, sometimes there was a row of stray pixels below an image.
- <TABLE ALIGN=LEFT|RIGHT> wasn't rendered as floating element (with text next to it).
- When left and right floating elements took up more space than the window width the display would mess up completely.

Fixed bugs:
- Crashed when tried to follow a link to an image that was already in cache as an inlined image
- Crashed when flushing a nonretrievable image ("error" image icon)
- After <FONT COLOR=#xxx> any previous relative font size change was forgotten
- Failed if path for an external program contained a space.
- Once downloaded, a (shift) click on the same link did nothing in the same session
- When doing two or more simultaneous downloads they would fight for the progress bar :)

Image cache now differentiates between memory and disk. On low memory or screen change images are flushed from memory but not from disk.
Document cache will swap out documents to disk on low memory.
