Yes I must admit that the article has alot of Wade's personal opinions and in some cases even some statements that can't be argued about(but again it's only in my opinion). In this article I will try to make clear what I think about Wade's statements and about the domination of Eurochart by Poles. And this article is also only from my point of view. First of all I want to make clear that there has been many Polish groups that has produced productions of high quality. I've picked out some the productions, that deserve some respect. Why I've done that? Because Wade had only picked out a very few. Freezers were ofcourse on of them, because he surely remember the fast vectors and brutal tekno music. Sure I also love Faza, Wit Premium and Lech. I guess that most of us do, but lets not forget group like these. »CL8: - Anadune - »CL9: Yon (Demo) »CL8: Foundation (Demo) »CL7: Zoom (Demo) »CL6: Wild (Slideshow) »CL0:In my opinion one of the best groups that has been in Poland until now. They've done some really high qulity productions and they managed to combine graphics and effects very well. The music was good and the same goes for the code and graphics. Kazik was the main graphician in Anadune and he had the style that Lazur has too, but I think that Kazik came first. »CL8: - Flying Cows Inc - »CL9: Boom Boom (Demo) »CL8: Bambino (Intro) »CL7: Time (Demo) »CL6: P.R.O.S.I.A.K (Demo) »CL0:What is there to say about these productions? They all contain fast effects and awesome tekno music. They also have some good designs. Timed to the music and they're simply enjoyable. »CL8: - Illusion - »CL9: Rage (Demo) »CL0:A really nice demo and once again the music is great. »CL8: - Applause - »CL9: Thing (Diskmag) »CL0:Great diskmagazine, I guess that you all can remember the Thing disguised as a condom? It wasn't the best magazine around back then, but is still worth to remember. »CL8: - Mystic - »CL9: Discharge (Demo) »CL8: Mysterious Chip (Musicdisk) »CL7: Fear (Demo) »CL0:Discharge is my favourite here and it's because of the music and it's XTD who has done the music. In that point I can agree with Wade! He is one of the best musicians from Poland. Or should I say was? :) »CL8: - Mad Elks - »CL9: Technologic Death (Demo) »CL8: Fuck Da Glenz (Pack) »CL0:Technologic Death is one of my favourite demos and again the music is great in this production too, but code and gfx is also good. The pack called 2 FuCk dA GlEnZ(If I've to spell it right :) ) is one of the best packs ever. Stunning idea and really good design! »CL8: - Mad Wizards - »CL9: Save Da Vinyl (Musicpack) »CL0:I know that this is one of the newer productions, but it still derserve to get some warm words! They have released issue 27 until now and I'm sure that there will be many more issues of this musicpack in the furture or should I say hope! But the design is good and alot of sceners are supporting it. »CL8: - Floppy - »CL9: Schizophrenia (Musicdisk) »CL0:In my opinion the best musicdisk around. Tzx who has done the music has a great style and the code and the idea is awesome! But I think that is hasn't been spread that well, maybe because of its size(6.5MB)? The second musicdisk from Tzx has been released so check it and see for yourself! »CL8:I could pick out even more groups, sceners and productions but that is not what this article is about. I've only picked these out to show people that haven't been in the scene for so long, that Wade picked out one group! So it's not only the groups that you know from today, like Mad Wizard, Nah Kolor and Floppy who have made good producitons. My suggest is that you should try to find some of the productions that I've mentioned above and see if I'm completly wrong about my statements. »PIC:Darklight.+ec_11.iff» »CL8:Now for the "high" position of the Polish sceners? I took a closer look on Eurocharts Issue 41 and must say that you're wrong Wade, it's not as bad as its seems too. You said that Azzaro shouldn't higher ranked than Rokdazone and Ghandy. What Rokdazone concerns, he hasn't done anything for a really long time, but he has ofcourse deserved some respect and we will never forget him. but its normal that a person will get less and less votes, if he doesn't make anything and some don't even know him anymore. Ghandy he is still active, but has handled Showtime over to Modem. Plus its was a long period between issue 13 and 14. You should also have in mind that there ain't that many editors left to vote for, its not like in the old days. And what Belos and jim concerns, remember that its not that many ponts that decide who there will conquer the 11 or 15 place in "Best Editor" it's the 3 position in the top that have most of the points and the rest are just trying reach them and its a long way to the top. But sure if one of them go inactive then they slowely will fall and that's normal. And if I look at the ranking in issue 41, then I can't see the big fuss about "the poles dominate eurochart" Sure they're on it and yes some might vote for thier friends, but we're not talking about votefakiking at all, because it's the right persons and productions that are highest in the Eurochart. And another thing that I stubbled over is the self-promotion stuff Wade wrote about. Sure Sanity did not include text files in their demos or in other ways promoted their work. »CL0:They were above that and people would see thier work with or without promotion. Promotion is good, thier can't be argued about that, sure you can argue about the way it is done and say that you like or dislike the way they do it. But again remember one thing, the Scene we have today is not the same as for 4-5 years, it's getting more difficult to compare these two worlds and I see no reason why we still should do that! Bragging I've not heard that many Polish dudes bragging about their skills or productions. The only thing they're bragging about is thier parrties! But again they've the right to do that, because we could learn alot of them when we are talking aboout parties! They've atmophere down there, like we has back 1993 or so and that is something to be proud of in my opinion. I attended at Gravity back in 1998 and hope that I'll go next year too, because it's one of the best parties I ever have been on and I have been on a few until now. »PIC:DaFreak.144x58x4.iff» »CL8:The Urge to Accel: »CL9:-------------------------------------- »CL0:Yes, people are using the 060 and why the heck shouldn't they do that. It would be stupid not to use the prossesor power. Wade I think you forgot that we don't use A500 anymore(Okay some of us still do) :). I also like it, if I see something that runs smooth on my A1230 50Mhz now a days, but I do not complain if they don't, because 030 getting old and people should upgrade to something higher. And when we're talking about PPC, then I must say that you're right Wade. I've not seen many good PPC demo until now. So I won't comment that any furture. About design, you can also find groups from the Sanity days that had really bad design in their productions, but you could find many who had great design! It's the same today, you can find good and bad design. Just remember that there are not that many groups as it used to be! My opionion is that the whole 3D style has ruined the design in demos, there is to much of these 3D routines. Why not make some new routines instead of using all those old source codes and that don't only count the Poland scene but the whole Scene. We need more groups like Mankind, Loonies and Ephidrena. They have showed us some good ideas and some nice designs. Wade you always come back to the same thing and that is that they vote for them self! And I think that you are partly right? Alot of them have contact via snailmail and email and many of them don't even have contact with the rest of the scene and I don't think that the people who hasn't contact with the rest of the scene don't want to, no they prefer to write in Polish, because of their lack of their english skills! And therefore they vote for the people that they swap or have email contact with! And I think that is the reason why the thing happend in Eurochart issue 40, but the situation is not the same in issue 41 in my opinion. Poland do rule, they're real friendshippers and I still say that we can learn alot of them. Sure there are some rotten eggs among them, but I can asure you that there are rotten eggs in alomst every contry. And some of the rotten eggs have rotten attitudes? Nothing to do about that. Wade I don't know were you've all these stories from? It seems to that Darkhawk has given you most of them and I don't think that Darkhawk ment it so hard at it seems to that you do. But again it might be that you just try to do the same as Darkhawk do? Create a debate that make sure that Devotion will get more articles? I'm not sure about that, but if that is the case then you failed! :) Because this one is in Eurochart.
