1. Introduction

You probably thought this would never happen :-)
But yes, The Commodore Billboard has now been updated. I haven't been active in
the Commodore community for almost 2 months now, but I promise that I'm back.
Lots of things have happended in my life during the past two months. I've moved
to Copenhagen, started a new job and everything, so I simply haven't had the
time (or interest) to do new updates. I would like to appologise to all new
subscribers who may have thought they had signed up for yet another dead mailing
list - You haven't, I promise. I would also like to appologise to all of you
who keep sending me material. I'm sorry that it has taken me so
long to get it online. It won't happen again. I really appreciate all the time
and effort you put into helping me create the site. All contributions are much
appreciated.
2. The Commodore Billboard Has Been
Awarded
===================================
Yup. The International Association Of Webmasters
And Designers (www.iawmd.com) have kindly
awarded The Commodore Billboard. A new pop-up window has been added to the site
(just to show off :-). The Commodore Billboard usually gets around 400 visitors
a day, when new updates are anounced. That's why I've added the pop-up
window showing The Golden Web Award (www.goldedwebawards.com). After a few
weeks, this pop-up window will be removed.
3. Four English Commodore Adverts
==========================
Zak (RocinanteC64@aol.com) has contributed two
2-page adverts. One for the C64 (Why the C64 isn't in a class by itself) and one
for the C128 (If you own an AppleII you'll have to add..). Both were taken from
the September 1985 issue of Commodore Power/Play. The advert for the C128 was
already featured on the site, but Zak could provide me with a new scan of a
higher quality. Thanks alot Zak!
From trusty supporter Rick (rick@vip.solis.co.uk) comes a 1982 advert
for the Vic20 (How to make the best home computer in the world even better).
From the land down-under :-) comes a C64 advert
(Who's keeping up with the Commodore?) from Lance Lyon (llyon@globalfreeway.com.au). This
is also the slogan used in both the C64 tv-ad and radio-ad from Australia also
featured on the site.

4. Four English PET Adverts
=====================
Rick (rick@vip.solis.co.uk) who seems to have a
complete library of Commodore mags :-) have sent me some more great stuff. An
advert from 1979 (The PET, Britain's no. 1 home-computer from Commodore), "You
are never alone with a Commodore PET" from 1981, "If any of the following words
give you a buzz" from 1981 and last but not least "Sinclair owners! Will give
you a £50 trade-in when you trade-up" from 1982.
5. Three JAPANESE Vic1001 (Vic20) Adverts. RARE
STUFF!
=============================================
HUGE thanks must go to www.8bit-museum.de for supplying me with
THREE Japanese adverts for the Vic1001. I don't know for sure, but I think the
1001 is just a Japanese edition of the Vic20. Any Japanese people out there who
can translate the text?
If you speak German, I highly recommend visiting
the 8bit museum which is a very detalied website about old computers/game
consoles including Commodores.
6. One 8-page Dutch Amiga
Brochure
===========================
AlexDee (alexdee@widerstand.org) has
sent me an 8 page Dutch brochure (1993) covering 7 Amiga models
including the A4000T by Commodore which I believe never made it to the shops.

7. Two English Amiga Brochures
========================
Neil Cafferkey (caffer@student.cs.ucc.ie) have sent
in two great English brochures. One from 1991 promoting the A3000 and a 4 page
brochure for the A1500...quite unique i think. Thanks Neil.
8. New Commodore Football Sponsorship

Here's a photo I found on a Chelsea fan-site a
while ago. The problem is that I don't remember which one, so I can't give
proper credit :-( But the photo shows Chelsea football player Eddie Newton
wearing a C= shirt from the time when Commodore sponsored Chelsea around
1989/1990. You'll find the photo in the Misc. section.
By the way, Neil has told me that he owns a 40
(yes, fourty) page PET brochure. This is VERY RARE and I really hope he can find
the time to scan it for me. Look out for future updates, coming more often in
the future :-) Promise....
