Short: Quake and QuakeWorld ports for Amiga 68k Author: frank@phoenix.owl.de (Frank Wille), magicSN@birdland.es.bawue.de (Steffen Häuser) Uploader: frank@phoenix.owl.de Version: 1.0 Type: game/shoot Requires: 68040, AGA or CyberGfx, Quake data files Action: NoStart DESCRIPTION This is an Amiga port of id Software's famous 3D ego-shooter "Quake", for 68040 and 68060 CPUs. Included is standard Quake and Quake World (server and client). The game may be controlled by a GUI. Quickstart without using the GUI (you need to have a valid "id1" directory containing the Quake data files in the current directory): AGA systems: stack 500000 quake68k -nostdout -aga CyberGfx/P96 systems: stack 500000 quake68k -nostdout -cgfx The QW client (qwcl68k) is started with the same options. For more informations, options and hits, please read the QuakePPC.guide (yes, even when it's called QuakePPC, most informations are valid for the M68k port too :). A 68060 with a fast memory interface is strongly recommended. You won't have much fun playing Quake on a stock A4000/040. INSTALLATION Copy all files into your Quake directory, which contains the Quake data files in "id1". Copy the contents of libs to LIBS:. The wizard.library is for the GUI only. BUGS Still too many to be listed here, but hopefully some less than in the last inofficial releases. :) Note: I will be on holiday until the 1th of July, so please send all mails concerning standard Quake/QW to Steffen Häuser during that time. THANKS - id-Software, for releasing the Quake and QW source under GPL. - Steffen Häuser, for his help to port Quake and QW (for example ChunkyPPC, P96-PiP, CD-Audio, Joypad, Joystick, etc..) and for writing the QuakePPC.guide. - Massimiliano Tretene, for the GLQuake port, using MiniGL and Warp3D. - Martin McKenzie, for the nice GUI. - Volker Barthelmann, for fixing hundreds of compiler bugs during the last months of porting Quake.
