The #amiga at germany.net becomes #amiga at EuIRC
The IRC channel #amiga known from irc.germany.net can be found at EuIRC
since today. The name of the channel remains the same, only the server has been
replaced by a server network.
EuIRC can be reached via irc.euirc.net or irc.hes.de.euirc.net.

HSMathLibs v44.41 beta 6 for MC 68040 and -060
After a long time Matthias Henze has released a new beta version of
the HSMathLibs for the MC68040 and the MC 68060. This is the version 44.41 beta
6 which is ready for download for registered users by using the title link.
Non-registered users can download LHA- and LZX-archives of previous versions
there.
The HSMathLibs replace the libraries "mathffp.library",
"mathieeedoubbas.library", "mathieeedoubtrans.library",
"mathieeesingtrans.libray" and "mathtrans.library" and patch the library
"mathieeesingbas.library" with specially for the MC68881/82, MC68040 or MC68060
optimised versions. To reach as much speed as possible these are programmed in
assembler. Compared to the previous version the following has been changed:

enhancer "WorkON". WorkON simplifies activities with the Workbench and offers the

Daniel Robbins, president of Gentoo
Technologies, has released his third article regarding the AmigaSDK on the
IBM server in the area "developerWorks:Linux library". It introduces the
assembler language of the Virtual Processor by Amiga/TAO which resembles more
to C than to a conventional assembler language using an example that includes
source code and screenshot...

NetInfo v2.8
On 04 November 2000 Oliver Wagner has released version 2.8 of the network
tool "NetInfo". NetInfo joins the tools Traceroute, Ping, Whois
and Finger in one GUI. Compared to version 2.5 the following has been
changed:
NetInfo runs with MUI V3.8+ and needs the NList class. Supported TCP/IP-Stacks
are AmiTCP, Genesis and Miami ("bsdsocket.library").
The stacks basing on the "socket.library" like AS225 by Commodore aren't
supported.
Directory Opus v4.15d Beta
On 03 November 2000 Jacek Rzeuski has released beta version 4.15d of the
directory tool "Directory Opus". Compared to the previous version the following
has been changed:

released by GP Software.
AZT-Server Temporary Down
The internet pages of the Amiga Center Thueringen
can't be reached continuously at the moment due to work done by the provider on
their server. For now it is unknown how long this will take. The Amiga Center
Thueringen asks for your understanding and will inform you as soon as the pages
can be reached as usual again.

ACE 2000: Video
A video of the ACE 2000 Show in Australia has been released.
This video shows Bill McEwen's presentation of the floppy demo during the first
seminar. For the moment the video available as shockwave/flash version - a MPEG
version is announced.

Correction: The video format is is not shockwave/flash, but .asf-file, thus as a Microsoft
streaming format. To view it a PC with the Microsoft Media-Player is needed.

RJ Mical at Red Jade Inc.
Sine 01 November 2000 RJ Mical is Vice President
of Software-Ressort at Red Jade Inc. .
Mical will cooperate in determining the technical aims of the
company, and he will be head of the internal as well as the external software
groups which are working on the OS and the device's inbuilt applications of Red Jade.
RJ Mical has already decisive cooperated in development of the Amiga 1000, the
handheld gaming console Lynx and the 3DO gaming console. He was special effects artist
at Williams Electronics.
Red Jade Inc. in Palo Alto, California, is
a star-tup company founded by Ericsson that deals with development of mobile
hardware for the entertainment sector. For this they plan to combine the sections of
video games, music, PDAs and wireless data transfer. The company was founded
in February 2000.

cnet.device 1.5
Harry Sintonen has released version 1.5 of the PCMCIA ethernet driver "cnet"
on 02 November 2000. This is a SANA2-driver for the PCMCIA slot of the A600 and
A1200 supporting most of the NE2000-compatible cards. A list of the cards and
the assembler source code of the driver are included in the archive. Compared to
the previous version the following has been changed:
The driver runs on OS 2.04 and higher.
Excelate Victory: Info-site Online
Trogladite Software has released additional information regarding the email
tool "Excelate Victory". The tool allows the easy programming of email clients
with 13 commands.
The tool is started via the ARexx port. So every programming language and every
application software with the corresponding interface can use Excelate Victory.
The connection to an POP3 server, for example, is done with:
"CONNECTPOPHOST mail_server user_id password [port]". The there released
example script
contains more commands. "GetMailCount" determines the number of
existing messages and "GetMail" gets an e-mail from the server.

New Games at AmiSectorOne
At AmiSectorOne new games are available. Ed Mackey has released ´Megaball 4
full version´ and Pete Lyon released ´Karate Kid2´. New are also ´Aquanaut´,
´Death Angel´ and ´Globulus´.

YAM 2.2 Released
At the YAM-Homepage version 2.2 of the Amiga E-Mail client is now available!
This is the last version by Marcel Beck, since he stops the development of YAM
due to lack of time. YAM is now an Open-Source Project in which developers
can renew and further develope the program.

COOL bits News
World of Amiga
On December 9th and 10th 2000 an Amiga-Meeting will be held in Cologne
(Mediapark). The Amiga OS 3.9 will be officially presented there. Furthermore,
COOL bits will present and offer the new version (3.0) of FX-Scan. This
version will, for the first time after years, bring OCR to the Amiga. Of course,
COOL bits will also offer other software by Felix Schwarz
(FX-Paint, VHI-Studio), even if he will not be able to attend the show in person this time. More

Amiga Arena News
Amiga Arena in association with Alfred Knoetig (Alfs Corner) is proposing a new
special price action. Apano Sin - The Classic Shooter can be ordered
exclusively at a price of 45DM at Amiga Arena.
Apano Sin is a classic bootleg shooter tha was originally developed in 1993
for ECS computers. But then the development was frozen and for the
Amiga-Meeting in Neuss, Alfred Knoetig was able to present the final version,
after he had taken over the development and sales. Apano Sin can be run on all
of the Amiga models and is only available on disk. An installer is in preparation
and thus soon available! A preview of Apano Sin is also available.
Turbo Racer - The voxel racing game version 1.5
The last 10 original CDs with boxes from the commerce of the racing game Turbo
Racer 3D can be ordered at a price of 15DM at Amiga Arena! Turbo Racer 3D is a voxel
racing game in the 'Flyin High' genre. Required is an AGA-Computer with
68020-68060 CPU and 4 MB FASTRAM.
An interview with Alfred Knoetig and more information about future projects
