AmigaMPEGPlayer and writepixel for AmigaSDK
Today, I have publishe the first MPEG video player for the AmigaSDK on my homepage. This player already runs
quite fast (160x120: 82 FPS, 325x288: 17 FPS on a PII-333),
despite of the for the moment still absolutely unoptimised FPU translator inside the SDK.
Sound is still missing, but this still is not supported by the current SDK, anyway.
Furthermore there there is an little VP-Assembler demo, that creates a realtime colour tone with transparency
effects. Both programs are to find at the download area, including source codes.
Who is not a developer and therefor has no SDK installed, can have a closer look at three high resolution
screenshots (incl. running AmigaSDK-Quake), at least.

Internet Intern - News / Patent on Online Trade
Andreas Kleinert has found an interessting article in the WWW. You will find the address at the titlelink (German).
According to this the American Ed Pool got admision for a patent protecting the following technique:
"a process for carrying out an international transaction ... using computer-to-computer communication".

This press release tells, that the cooperartion of Amiga, Inc. and Hyperion Entertainment even will be
engrossed and intensified. Hyperion will port all the games a license exists for to the new Amiga, too.

PCI-Board "Predator" with AGP
The British Amiga magazine Amiga Active
in the current issue 12 reports on the PCI board "Predator". This board is meant for
the expansion slots on both, CyberstromPPC and BlizzardPPC accelerators. On the "Predator"
there are 3 PCI slots, 1 AGP slot, as well as 1 SDRAM socket for up to 256MB of RAM. These
slots are at a clock of 66MHz. This board has access to the entire 4GB address space of
the PPC processors. There is a driver for support of Voodoo 5 APG graphics cards under
development. The "Predator" should be available from the end of September.

DreamCDGuide V0.96
DreamCDGuide is a MUI program that makes naviagation through an AminetCD more easy and it offers many features, e.g.
an inserted AminetCD is recocnized automatically.
This program needs a 68020+ CPU and MUI V3.8+. The use of this sofware together with LHA V2.1 leads to crashes, at the
time beeing. But together with LHA V1.38 the current version for DreamCDGuide runs without problems.
Augsburger Allgemeine: An Amiga Survives
Today a short article was released in the Augsburger Allgemeine (German newspaper) with the headline of "An Amiga survives - A
Cult Machine to Freaks". This article introduces in short the German Augsburger Computer Forum(ACF),
describes it´s activities and reports very positively about the Amiga. Among other features the low memory needings of the
AmigaOS, it´s internet and video capabilities, as well as numbers for the distribution of Amiga in Germany are mentioned.

DataM II Version 0.8 Beta Released
On the homepage of the Amigaclub Steinfurt (German; titlelink) a new official beta version for the spreadsheet analysis software
DataM II was released.
In particular a faster Amiga native mode for viewing and the possiblity to view graphs has been added to the program.

Amiga: Conceptions for the Developer´s Support
Gary Peake, from Amiga, has published conceptions from Amiga for the planned Developer´s Support Project
on the AmigaOpen mailinglist. Those should give an impression of the project, not necessary all the up-comming
services are listed there and in particular the details are not fixed or published, yet.
At this time the support is subdivided into four levels. The correct setup shall be announced in proximo times.
For the Developer´s Meetings/Trainings there are four dates a year scheduled at different locations.
Furthermore there will be two events in Snoqualmie, the head office of Amiga. Moreover Amiga will publish videos and
a complete series of books. This series will represent the programming reference for the new Amiga system. Ten books
are planned dealing with different subjects of the Amiga VP programmig at a target price of 29.95USD a book, for the time beeing.
There will be a Certification Project for interessted developers. It is beeing worked on the correct specs for this
project. In general there will be the possibility to get certification for applications and hardware from Amiga. After a successful
certification a developer will get access to the following:
At irc.amiga.com there is a IRC Channel #developer available. After the secure mechanisms will work there
will be NDA style chats with Fleecy Moss, Bill McEwen and other members of the Amiga team.
Web Panels will be established. Those will be separated into private (NDA) and public forums.
There will be Updates and some surprises for registered developers, those people who did not purchase the SDK and
will not be able to access.

consisted of five persons. Beside himself the in the szene well known 3D artist Ingo Mesche belonged to
the team. Ingo, father of the Moorhuhn alread had a digital poultry in the drawer of his desk, which
was only waiting to be shot at last. On would hardly beleave it, but this was waiting there since about
15 years. That time it was designed as a pixle figure with D-Paint/Amiga and the even got a little
walk-on, but never was published. So it lain around useless untill the Phenomendia AG needed a chicken.

Small Bug in both, DA III and Demo
DA III: The picture drawer will not get copyed, if wanted. The Tooltype for the picture path
is set correctly in any case. In this case please, copy the wanted drawer manual.
DA III Demo: Due to a little oversight some string input fields need the MUI-class Betterstring.mcc, which
was no provision originally. If the program would end up with a MUI error message, copy Betterstring.mcc to
MUI:Libs/MUI. This subclass is available on Aminet at dev/mui. A bug-fixed version for the demo will soon
be available on the homepage at the titlelink.

CyberGraphX: List of 3 Virge cards for Mediator board
The Mediator support site of CyberGraphX has been expanded on August 28th with
information about three graphics cards with the Virge 86C325 chip by Diamond/S3,
which are supported by CyberGraphX. Listed are:

8x8 - Motaba Linkvirus Found
Virus Help Denmark today recieved information on an infected archive, which was on Aminet and
was published on Aminet CD 38. This Archive has been infected by that linkvirus which xvs.library
names as ´8x8 virus´, and VT-Schutz V3.17 calls it ´Motaba-3 virus´. The infected
archive carries the following attributes:

NOTE: If you have used this archive, your system is infected with this
dangerous virus. Please use VirusZ, VirusChecker or VirusExecutor
and use the "xvs.library v33.23", (Check the about gadget) or

V3: Image Decoders V14.0 for MorphOS PPC
Since the August, 27th 2000 the first public version of the PPC-Image-Decoder for MorphOS is available for download.
You will need Voyager V3.3 alpha 35 for using the decoder. David Gerber said that this is realy fast.

A Demo of Digital Almanc III available for download. Only german version at the time, but an english cataloge is available, too.

Linux Version of SiN Almost Finished
Hyperion Entertainment announced that the betatests of the Linux-Port of "SiN" will be finished at the end of
September 2000. There will be versions for x86 and PPC Linux systems.
The Amiga version is still at alpha stage and will hopefully be released on the beginning of october. Further details

New text.datatype Version 44.5
This is a replacement for the original text.datatype. The different to the origin is that text.datatype supports
paste and copy of a whole text passage. Another new feature is the searche function. The sources are now available for
AROS, too.

"SIM - The lost world" is a classic adventure like "The Dig" or "Darkseed". At the time the
development is stopped due to the leaving of the programmer. Some very nice screenshots are available at the titlelink.

I am trying to build up a list with all the new available and coming up software for the SDK and AmigaNG/AmigaONE.
Because of this I need the following information:

7. Type of software: Shareware/Freeware/what-ever-ware...

The list gives you the possibility to publish own software by using a central page. It is like a versionwatch for SDK
and AmigaNG/AmigaONE software.
The list will be published at amiga.developer.network and may occure in a printed magazin.
Due to my moving it is not possible to be online with amiga.developer.network on the first of september 2000. Please help

Voyager V3.3 alpha 35
Close to the start of his two weeks holydays Oliver Wagner has released a new
alpha version for Voyager. Forms are activated in this version again. A complete list
of all changes can be taken from the Readme.
During his holydays Oliver Wager will not be reachable. David Gerber will do the Voyager support for these days.
iFusion Moving Forward
On the homepage of Microcode Solutions one can read that the strongly simplified new interface for iFusion (as Fusion PPC
apparently should be named now) might soon be available for official testings. Moreover Jim Drew is asking the
Amiga Community for help: he is looking for a DOS-Handler which is able to access an AmigaDOS-Device (DH0:, RAM:, etc.) like a

ACommander V0.1
ACommander is a filemanager (freewar) for the new AmigaOS. Up to now it only offers rudimentary
functions, but the author will constantly develope this program. Additional to the program archive
there are two screenshots of the filemanager on the website.
Safe V13.9
On August, 27th 2000 Zbigneiw Trzcionkowski has released version 13.9 for the virus detector Safe.
This application recognizes if there is a virus in memory and removes it, if possible. This software
cannot check files for virus infection.
With this version a bug concerning rebooting on 68040 CPUs has been fixed. Further details you can get
from the Readme.
JIT UAE: 2nd Alpha Version
As already announced on August 19th, an UAE version for Linux has been released containing
a Just in Time Compiler (JIT), reportedly making it faster than a 68060. Bernie Meyer: "After
almost 600 downloads of the first alpha version of JIT-UAE, it´s time to release a second
alpha version."
The archive contains a binary for Linux/386, and the source code. What has changed in this
version can be read at the title link.
CyberGraphX News
The CGX v3 driver for the Mediator board is
functional now, and has been tested on a board with PCI ViRGE. The version for v4 will
be released with the next v4 update. The Voodoo3 driver is worked upon, no release date
has been announced, yet. The support site for Mediator PCI

Version 1.1.4 for Scene-Handler, which allows you to mount Movieshop scenes to get direct access

Back to the Roots News
"Back to the Roots", the biggest and oldest legal archive for commercial
Amiga software was updated again and of course there are many interesting
news for anybody.
The gamers can relive the past with cool classics like the
fabulous adventure games "Quest for Glory 2 - Trial by Fire"
and "Goldrush" from Sierra. Also we are very proud, that the
german Amiga company MegArts has allowed us, to put the
addictive puzzle game "Brainman" and the Kick-Off alike
Icehockey game "MegArts Hockey" online. And as always, these
were just some examples.
The sceners will find some of the hottest pc demo releases
from the Assembly 2k now in our archive, too. "Spot" from
Exceed - a demo which looks like a Pixar movie or "Art" from
Haujobb - just to name two demos. Also some demo scene
stuff, which was released a little bit earlier this year,
was uploaded.
If you like classic Amiga500 demos, then we give you the
opportunity to take a trip many years back in time with
masterpieces like "Devil's Key", "Elysium" or "The Drunk
Desert Demo".
And last but not least we have again some wonderful modules
for your ears (from musicians like Rapture, Elwood and others)
and some candy for your eyes (graphics from Peachy, PGCS,
Toast and others).
This should be enough stuff for enjoying the next rainy day in
front of your computer, therefore we wish you a lot of fun with

Digital Almanac III
Developement of the astronomy application DA III has been finished. The first
copies can be delivert from August, 28th. A (strongly limited) demo version also will be
published at Aminet and on the DA homepage, within the next few days.
If somebody might not know, by now:
Digital Almanac is THE astronomy application for Amiga. Seeing extent and features this software
should not fear of comparison to corresponding (expensive) software for PCs.
New in DA III first of all:
The price is 50DM (upgrade from DA II) or 80DM (first use). The application is delivered on CD-ROM, only.
A CD stuffed with 400MB is to be expected. Further information on the homepage (titlelink).

Heise Reports on the cooperation between Amiga and Red Hat
«After Amiga already announced some cooperation
last month to bring the
multimedia computer of the past to new boom, no even popular hardware and software companies
came to the group of Amiga supporter. So Linux pro Red Hat has announce a cooperartion
with Amiga. With this step they anticipate a wider multimedia support for Linux, than up to now.
Since then Red Hat distributes also the
Amiga Developer´s Kit, which only

Daniel Robbins: The new Amiga SDK
In the "developberWorks:Linux library" section of the IBM-Server an article
on the Amiga SDK by Daniel Robbins has been released. This article discribes the
basic functionality, and speed of the new Amiga system. Due to the VP the SDK will
furthermore is described as solution for game devotees, cause the system does not
depend on a particular processor type, and hence runs on different hardware architectures.
Robbins responds on the installation of the SDK quite extensive and offers problem
solution tips. The article closes with a list of links.

New Versions of SimpleHTML and html.datatype
New versions for SimpleHTML (0.11) and html.datatype (0.11). SimpleHTML is a HTML offline Browser.
It is useful in order to qickly display smaller HTML-files (e.g. as MIME display program for HTML-files
in YAM). But it supports only a small part of the HTML-Tags. There is a html.datatype available, too.

Amiga has announced today an agreement with Red Hat, Inc. (NASDAQ: RHAT), the leader
in open source internet infrastructure, to provide high performance multimedia for
the Linux platform. The agreement gives the Redhat.com community access to Amiga's
Software Developer Kit. Bill McEwen, Amiga President/CEO, said that the company
selected Red Hat because of its leadership and abilities to assist in the development

KDH d´Amiga Shipping
Shipping of the d´Amiga has started. After the last papers on the Amiga Development System
d´Amiga arrived from the USA, KDH Datentechnik will ship the system in Europe starting August,
23rd. The Amiga Software Developer Kit and a large support package are part of the developer

VBCC V0.7d for MorphOS
On the 20th of August Franl Wille released version 0.7d of the ANSI-C compiler vbcc for MorphOS.
This version can produce 68K- and PPC-binaries.
The compiler was writen by Volker Barthelmann and is available for MorphOS, Amiga 68K, PowerUp and WarpOS.
The sourcecode is available too.
At http://chat.linux-info.de/ have all kind of linux-users the posibility
to communicate with each other. LinuxInfo.DE wants to support the communication between the users and offers a
platform for this purpose. The service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Test of the think-game "PicTris"
A test of the game PicTris has been released at Fun Time World.
It is available from APC&TCP and runs on Amigas with AGA or graphics card. The CD-Rom contains 18 MB of game data.

NListtree.mcc V1.3 (18.4)
On August, 20th 2000 Carsten Scholling released version 1.3 of the NListtree-class for MUI. Enforcer and PoolWatch-Hits
have been removed in this version. All changes can be found in the
readme.
The class needs AmigaOS2.x, MUI 3.8 and MCC_NList 0.89 (NList.mcc 19.97).

The Amiga "MAS-Player" is now available as a PRO version. This project is an MP3 player
for the Amiga parallel port.
The PRO version is an improved variant and takes up only half as much CPU time which
makes it possible to play back MP3 songs on a plain 68000 Amiga with 7 MHz with up to
192kbps and higher in highest quality. People with DIY experience who want to solder

It is done: SMSMasterMUI is ready. Well, not quite, still a preview version.

Debian GNU/Linux now runs on iMacs and Netwinders, and of course Intel

Heise: Canon-Printer with "Date of Decay"
«Yesterday, in this way German ZDF-economic broadcast "WISO" reported about the case of an owner of a
BubbleJet 600. This spring the four years old device started printing out the warning tank of remaining ink would
be full soon after each printed piece of paper. After a little time the printer claimed remaining tank being full
and finished work.
The ingeneer looked after but neither tank nor absorbing felt has been soiled particularly. To be on the safe side
he cleaned everything - but in vain. Printer didn`t start working again.
According to WISO Canon-hotline confirmed the printer has been provided with a counter for the drops of ink given
off which stops the device as a precaution after 15000 pieces of paper printed out (depending on the kind of printing)
- independent of the fact if the catching tank actually was full or not. The broadcast did find out BubbleJet 600
can be persuaded starting its work again by holding the keys "Power", "Form Feed" and
"Print Mode" while putting in the main plug and switching on the printer.«

First update of AppMI
AppMI is a collection of toolbar images and animations in GlowIcons design, which might
turn out to be a standard for the Classic Amiga System. The first update is now ready. The
new archive contains 25 new images and 1 new animation. Some small mistakes in the
documentation have been fixed, and a preview index of the new images been added. The

Adapter sollution for Silversurfer
If you want to add the Silversurfer to your tower, and did not buy the Limited Edition
with adapter, you will find out that the Zorro board is in the way. Ingo Schwedler
came up with an adpater sollution for this.

The material costs are 14 DM, shipment is 3 DM, and for his work he demands
13 DM per piece, so the total is 30 DM per piece.

Andreas Magerl explains the future on a special page (German).
In fact the so far publisher the Falke-Verlag will discontinue production and selling of Amiga Future
after issue #27 because of commercial considerations.
Preventing the last Amiga game magzin from being closed Andreas Magerl will continue to work with his editors.
Selling will be based on subscriptions. Therefore you have to know that Andreas Magerl was responsible for the content
and the Falke-Verlag for the layout and sales. Because he has not the marketing channels as a big publishing house has, the
further existence depends on the number of subscriptions. A subscription form is available here.
At the moment there are 6 issues availabel for 60 DM with costs of shipment inclusive (insdide of Germany).

Eternity News
We, Eternity, are organizing a quiz. It is a quiz about the AMIGA & more. It is based on a questiondatabase
with about 750 questions. If you want to join the game you have to be at the channel #amigaquiz at any
EuIRC-server on Friday, 18. August 2000.
The quiz is running on an AMIGA, the quizbot was programmed by Matthias Böcker.

IRC Chat Server will be Switched Off
This is not a special amiga thing but I often see users using AmIRC at the IRC-NET.
The oldest chatserver irc.uni-erlangen.de became a target of massive DDoS attacks from england yesterday (sunday).
The IRC-operators were forced to cut the connection of the chatserver off because the homepage of the university of erlangen
was not longer reachable. With that the premiere HUB-server for the whole EU was offline. If someone attacks
irc.freenet.de now the whole EU will be cut off from the IRCNET.
irc.uni-erlangen.de will be online again by tomorow. Some of the attackers came from germany. Hopefully they will be soon
uncovered and be called to account.

All owners of a keyfile for SViewIV can now use SViewIV as loader module for ImageFX V2.6+ due to

WHDLoad Version 12.0 Released
WHDLoad, the harddisk installation packet, was released as version 12.0. Many elder disk games can be
installed on harddisk with WHDLoad.
New Executive Update
Among other subjects Bill McEwen refers to the rumour Amiga would pull out of Germany once the remaining A1200´s
were sold. McEwen said, "We have no plans of pulling out of Germany. In fact we are looking at ways to
increase our presence in all of Europe, Asia, South America, and even here in North America. There are several
ideas on the table, and even some names have been attached to the ideas. There will more information available
when we are ready to share the plans. We are certainly not going to disregard the business in these markets.
We are a growing company and very excited about the future".
Further on Bill McEwen refers to the even persistent rumour, new A4000´s would be produced.
McEwen said, "Who came up with this one? There is no manufacturing of any Amiga except the new desktop,
notebook, and handheld in the works. I have asked before, and now I will ask again, please stop these rumors.

Amiga Team gained Postion #1 in OGR-25
Today, the Amiga Team achieved position #1 in the OGR-25 competition in both, the overall statistic
and the statistic of the day. In the shortly finishing OGR-24 the team keeps position #3, in RC5 they are at
position #7.
This comptetion is about to solve a difficult mathematic problem by the cumulative calculation power of

XSurfIDE Update
Unfortunatly a mistake creeped into the archive from August, 4th. I have forgotten to add
the .info file to the archive, hence Binddrivers of course wasn&180;t able to start the driver
Pictris Released
APC&TCP today has released a new game. Pictris is available directly from APC&TCP from now, and
after a few days from the Amiga specialized trade, of course. Pictris is kind of a puzzle game. The
player´s job is to mark the right boxes on the screen by mathematical hints, in order to uncover
the picture as fast as possible. The faster this has been done, the higher the score gets. All in all
there are 240 different puzzles with different skill levels availabel.
A demo version of the game is available on the home page, and of course also at Aminet. A few days ago
a subsequent demo version of SeaSide was released, which was available since November 1999.

Computer Channel Newsticker: Amiga Starts New Computer Product Line with Matrox Grafics Boards
«Amiga wants to revitalize the legendary computer of the 80th: "We want to bring the
Amiga-One to the markets in November", said Petro Tyschtschenko, CEO of Amiga Germany. But, according
to informations available to Computer Channel the manufacturer seems not to be able to fulfill this
intention. The new computers might be anticipated not until spring 2001.
For the bringing onto the market there also should be new Amiga games and an image processing application too,
these shall be running on all computer platforms, such as Windows, Linux, and Mac.»

In recent days, PerSuaSiVe SoftWorX has released the following updates:
Aside from the usual code maintenance, small and large speed improvements could be
achieved everywhere, with differing results on low- and high-end systems (depending
on CPU power and memory bandwidth). All programs can be downloaded from the website

We do not supply benchmarks, because we think they are worthless unless everybody could
verify them on his own (e.g. by using an open source benchmark program, freely available
graphics files and a clear system description).

Catweasel ISA Available Again
Today, the first Catweasel ISA boards from the current production run have been shipped.
Despite major supply problems we were able to keep delays within limits, the deadline
was exceeded by less than a week. The stongly increased demand can now be fully
satisfied. To keep the board producable in the year 2000, the "Y2K edition" recieved
some cosmetic canges. The board looks different, but is fully software compatible with
the 1996 model. It now fits better, and a protection against floppy cables attached in
the wrong pin order has been added.
With the Catweasel for the PC you can read Amiga disks as well as all other formats
the Catweasel knows, and uses them in emulators. For exsample, the usual formats for all
Amiga and C64 emulators are supported. Catweasel works with the usual PC disk drives, so
you don´t need "original" drives like the 1541 from the Commodore C64.

For some time APC&TCP offers the CD-ROMs "Best of Scene Archives" and "Scene Archives #9".
For a few days "Scene Archives #10" too. Some users asked us if the numbers 1 to 8 are also available, because
it is a risk to mail 120 DM to australia. But these is not possible because we do not think that the
slaerates would be high enough to cover our costs.
But APC&TCP we tried to find a solution. We negotiated with the australian author and decided to make some kind
of collecting-order.

AMarquee Version 51.4 Released
Today the version 51.4 of AMarquee was released. This update includes some minor bugfixes and rivesed versions
of the amaruee.library and the program executable. Some new functions simplify the network-programming.
Further informations are available in the ReadMe.
The problems were not caused by a virus but by the replacement of some systemfiles during the automatic
installation process. These lead to some incompatibility with the installed OS 3.5. If Andre had read the
manual he had known that there was the posibility to make an installation by hand.

WarpJPEG.datatype Version 44.12 Released
Since the last version for WarpUp PPC-Systems the datatype now works 10% faster on decoding of pictures.
The datatype were recompiled with VBCC 0.7d beta.
Amiga in Doctor Dobb´s Journal
The september release of Doctor Dobb´s Journal contains an article about Amiga titled
"Paradigms Lost and Regained". The article reports quite positive about the original Amiga and
partly about AmigaOS. Some lines later the article also positively talks about the new Amiga and the new Os
based on Tao´:s system.
It also brings out the fact that the new OS is really something NEW with the words:
"this is not the AmigaOS that Amigausers know and love".

At the homepage of the Amiga Future again is an actual interview.
This time with Emerald Imaging who work on the 3D-adventure
Aqua

Both systems use a virtual processor but have huge differences, too. AmigaOE always uses the
little Endian-display, Microsoft offers depending on the processor little or big Endian.
In addition, .net contains more type-information in its VP-code. AmigaOE offers a complete OS with Java
which can run independently while .net will strongly depend on the WIN32-API and makes operation difficult
on Unix-systems.

Publisher for Drake
The team of the 3D-game Drake, which orientates oneselves on Microprose´s Pirates! seems to have found a publisher. It isn't named for now, because the contract isn´t signed yet.
By now, the 3D-engine gets many improvements. More physical laws were added for more realism.
The Drake-Team consists of Oliver Gantert, Andreas Hippauf and Tobias Lutz.

The plugin library "wfmhcybergfx_r3d" for Real3D including source code was published
on condition of a licence similar to BSD. With this the library is freeware, too (was shareware).
This library allows 24bit rendering inside of GUI windows.

Version V0.08 of the Playstation emulation ",FPSE" for Amiga computer is available for
download. With this version display is not that dark as with the previeous one and via shell one can
choose the options USA/Japan and Europe.
Currently no 3D hardware is supported, hence the emulations is not very fast. The emulation runs on
PPC Amigas with 32MB of RAM, WarpOS V4+, and CGFX V3+. Additionally the PSX BIOS is required.
EZHome-Demo Update
On 5th August 2000 a new demo version of the home automation software "EZHome" was released.
This Update fixes the 060 processor problems.
DocDatatypes V39.50
On 4th August 2000 Amarpreet Singh Munde released version 39.50 of the DocDatatypes. This update includes
numerous enhancements. The following formats have been added: Psion Word, TextED and WindowsCE Pocket Word
wherewith DocDatatypes supports more than 20 formats, yet.
Aminet-CD #38 Available
Aminet-CD #38 from August 2000 is available. It contains decrunched allmost one gigabyte of data.
Since Aminet-CD #37 500MB of new data has been added. As special highlight a full version of
Personal Paint 7.1b is included on the CD.
The news archive of amiga-news.de also is content of this CD (German and English) and can be
viewed directly from the ReadMe using the browser comming with the Aminet-CD.

Voyager 3.3 Alpha as well as Spurious Offers
Oliver Wagner released an alpha version of Voyager V3.3 on August, 4th 2000. This version is presentating the new
layout engine. This alpha version is not ought to replace a running browser, due to essential features are still
missing such like FORMs (objects are created but have no function yet), FRAMES, IFRAMES and JavaScript
(code is present but not active yet). Sending in bug reports, missing features or similar therefore is not
necessary.
At shareit.com spurious entries of Vapor programs at immense prices were made. These entries were not made by
Vapor and hence should be left ignored.
Vapor belongs to the MorphOS alpha testers and there might be a V-port, but at the time beeing there are no
fixed plans of doing one. Concentration points on finishing the new version for AmigaOS.
Bugfix: Amiga SDK with RedHat 6.2
Due to problems with the Ncurses packet Amiga SDK does not run on an unmodified RedHat 6.2 installation.
Therefore a Ncurses fix done by Daniel Robbins is ready for download.
Simply unpack the archive amiga-ncurses.tar.gz
under Linux using the following command:
cd /usr
tar xzvf amiga-ncurses.tar.gz
Now type in "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/amiga/lib" and then the Amiga SDK can be started with
"intent_shell".

AsimWare Continues to Offer Amiga Products
On 1. August 2000 CZech Amiga News already quoted Greg Scott, AsimWare Innovations Inc., who set
clear that AsimWare continues to be in the Amiga trade. Just development of AsimCDFS has been stoped, but
development of MasterISO will continue.

Release of SAS-C Denied
Marco Frischkorn queried a couple of days ago at SAS America whether there
would be the possibility to release SAS-C for the Amiga freely. The query

Coyote Flux Opens Temporary Website
Since the 68k->PPC assembly porter/language PPC680x0 was finished a little while ago,
Coyote Flux has opened a temporary website at www.coyoteflux.tmfweb.nl
PPC680x0 will be released on Haage&Partner´s StormC 4 CD
appearing in October this year. Take a look at the website to find
out more about PPC680x0, Burnin´ Rubber 2000, Super Amicon and more...
PPC680x0 is an assembler program which is able to convert 680x0 sourcecode
to PPC sourcecode. This could change all 68k programs easily to PPC. The
programmers, by the way, are the guys who had to pose as a popular
camera subject

A couple of days ago, the beta version of MorphOS was published. Now
an online bugreport form is available. Please enter all found bugs
with as many information as possible. All bugreports will be read,
a reply will only be given if there are some questions regarding your report.

New RC5 Clients
New clients for RC5 are available for download at Distributed.net. There
are versions for PPC/PowerUp, m68k and PPC/WarpOS. Current version

entire press to jump at this subject. The advertising effect is invaluable, cause even negative advertising is in
fact advertising, as already well known. That often very enthusiastic people who worked hard and often without

Amster version 0.7a Released
The Amiga Napster client "Amster" as version 0.7a is now available at Aminet.
Napster is a project for sharing MP3 files using a special client with special
features such like chatting, searching, download, newsletter and more. Among other this client version for
Amiga offers multithreaded downloads with the opportunity of selecting priorities. The application requires
AmigaOS3.x, MUI 3.8+, MCC_NListtree 19.97+ and MCC_Lamp 11.1+.

DelfInit Version 2.1 Released
The utility for initiating the Delfina soundcard was updated and was now released as version 2.1.
New: The program recognizes the Delfina Plus which formerly was done as Delfina Lite+, instead of the intern
memory it is now shown the extern one.
Amiga Future interview with Epic germany
Right in this moment on the homepage of Amiga Future in the "Aktion" section an interview with Epic
Marketing Deutschland was published (German).
Among other things in this interview Epic is talking about estimated release dates of thier current projects
(Simon the Sorcerer 2 within this month, Dafel Bloodline and Earth 2140 not before October) and
about their point of view on Amiga. Epic is comlaining about the big amount of piracy copies, too.

For those who have got the Amiga Arena CD-ROM edition there is a keyfile for Imperium Terranum 2 for
download. With the keyfile which is registered to "Amiga Arena User" the demoversion on the cd can be
changed into a full version of IT2.
Hint:
The keyfile version of IT2 is not freeware. Forwarding of the IT2 keyfile version is not allowed.
It is just allowed to forward the IT2 archive which is free for download. The Amiga Arena CD-ROM version
is available with the next edition.

"Publius" - The Web against Internet Censorship beeing Tested
«"Share and rule" - the classic formula to ensure one´s power now apparently is turning against
the governing people. Initiated by computer scientists from AT&T and the New York University a two month lastig
experiment of a "censorship resident" publication system starts. On Tuesday 02. August 2000 the distribution
of the proxy server shall start up, on 7. August 2000 the testing of the client software will begin.
The Publius named system ensures the promulgation of web releases
similar to FreeNet by putting them on numerous servers using the
peer-to-peer technique, and under some circumstances this will be done by splitting the files. Hence it becomes harder for
potential or existing censorship offices to close documents in this system by carrier liabilities. More over that Publius
relies on multible endcoding: It is only possible to decode the pages after all the splitted framents has been put
together again. For the carrier of a server those pages are unreadble. For this reason the carrier cannot be hold
responsible for content he/she is not able to know.»
