It uses GPatch, created by Ralph Gruner, which is included. New in V2.2 11-Aug-2000 * Now uses direct socket access instead of TCP: device. This makes communication with the servers a lot faster. * Iris is now compatible with TermiteTCP as well. * Separate programs for POP and SMTP communication. This reduces the memory requirements when sending and receiving email considerably. * Two new authentication mechanisms that don't transmit the password in cleartext (APOP and CRAM-MD5). * Option to retrieve the first lines of long messages only and retrieve the complete message on demand. * Replaced the option "Show connection windows" by "Keep connection windows". The connection windows, which indicate progress, are now always open; this checkbox decides whether they should close automatically when the operation has been completed successfully. If an error occured, they remain open in any case. * Various enhancements of the GUI. * Changed term 'host' to 'server', a more usual term. * BUGFIX: BrowseWWW.rexx was not called if openurl.library was not present. * BUGFIX: Selectcfg.irx now opens on the correct screen.
