The DataTypes which are included here were designed to read the four most
popular image file formats used on the Internet: GIF, JPG, PNG and XBM.

The DataTypes support unusual format variants, true color and grayscale
modes, as well as attribute fields like Author, Copyright and Comment.

The DataTypes can be installed automatically ("Install" script), or
manually by copying the contents of "Devs/DataTypes" to "DEVS:DataTypes"
and the contents of "Classes/DataTypes" to "SYS:Classes/DataTypes". Users
of Amiga systems with a 68020 or higher CPU can install a special version
of the DataTypes, written to take advantage of new features of these more
powerful CPUs. To use this version, install only the files in
"Devs/DataTypes" which end in ".020", and remove the ".020" suffix after
installation (e.g. "jpeg.datatype.020" becomes "jpeg.datatype"). This is
also taken care of by the automatic installation.

DataTypes are supported by version 3.0 and higher of the Amiga operating
system.

These DataTypes, and in particular the GIF DataType, are subject to the
Legal Notes included in the Personal Paint 7.1 documentation
("PPaintCD.guide").
