What is it?

   A tool to erase the entries listed in Device:.DELDIR on a PFS 2 or 3
   formatted partition.


How do I use it?


   Have the command somewhere in your path. I have the directory created
   during the PFS installation, pfs2/tools, in my path, and I keep
   PurgeDelDir in there so it's with all the other PFS related tools.


   Quick start -

                   PurgeDelDir Work:


                   This will erase 32 entries from Work:.DELDIR, with
                   32 being the default value the program uses unless
                   you override it (explained below). This is all a
                   user of PFS 2 will really need.

   More details -

                   PurgeDelDir Work: 50


                   This will erase 50 entries from Work:.DELDIR. Any
                   value between 1 and 99 inclusive can be specified.
                   This is most useful to users of PFS 3 which can
                   have deletion directories of variable size, but both
                   PFS 2 and 3 users can specify a low value to erase
                   fewer entries than exist in Device:.DELDIR.


   Environment control -

                   If you want to permanantly override the default
                   value of 32 used by PurgeDelDir, to save yourself
                   typing your preferred value on the command line
                   every time you use it, create a plain text file
                   called -

                            Env:PurgeDelDir/slot_value

                   and simply enter the number you want into this file.

                   Be sure to copy this file (with the directory) to
                   EnvArc: if you want to have it available after you
                   reboot.
