Short: Two Ways To Shrink Your AmosPro Banks Author: uv334@freenet.victoria.bc.ca (John Bintz) Uploader: uv334@freenet.victoria.bc.ca (John Bintz) Type: dev/amos This archive contains two AmosPro programs that will shrink, squash, squeeze, and squish your files and banks into extremely small compressed files, in two very different ways: BobSquasher.Amos This program compresses bobs just like Squash-A-Bob, but is much improved over its predecesor. It features: * Auto Compression of all bobs in Bank 1 (when used as an Accessory) * Storage of the palette in the compressed file...no more "noting the colors of the bobs"... * Speed. The decompressor can unpack 55 bobs in about three seconds. XPKPack.Amos (requires util/pack/XPK25USR.LHA and Easylife (kind of!)) This program uses XPK, the standard for eXternal PacKing. It is a great improvement over the XPK commands in Easylife (which thrashed memory upon loading...sorry, Paul!), and includes a great GUI to pack files just for storage and procedures to pack banks for loading directly into programs. It also: * Lists all of the available packers and their different modes * Runs as an Accessory * Has a great non-Interface GUI * Accesses XPK cleanly and efficently Both programs are FREEWARE...use them, examine them, learn from them, improve on them, yakety schmakety...
