The command is most likely to be used in scripts after another command, with extensive output, so the user has a chance to read the output, before the script continues. Pause can be interrupted by pressing if you feel a strong need for doing that. Interrupting the program in this way will return an error code of 304, the standard AmigaDOS 'ERROR_BREAK' code.
