I came across the text of a recent edition of Space Command's list of unseen objects. Space Command lists the unseen objects in two groups. One group contains objects unseen for 2 - 4 days. The second group contains objects which have been unseen for 5 days or longer. This particular edition of the list listed 48 objects as unseen for 2 - 4 days and 68 objects unseen for 5 days or more. There are a few quirks in the list, such as Soyuz TM-16 which may have been "unseen" because it was (and is) docked to the Mir Complex. Presumably objects which are classified and those which are in "Current Elements Not Maintained" status would not show up on the list. Most of the objects on the 2 - 4 day list are debris objects which may periodically go unseen due to their small size. They are probably not "lost for good". The 5+ day list includes a number of objects that have been unseen for years and which may have decayed or broken up further or been lost due to erratic drag-related behavior. The following list delineates the objects on the 5+ day list. Also shown is the Int'l Designation of the object and the date of last TLEs in yyddd format.
