Newsflash 2/2 by PJ

"What are you doing on the station?" inquired Odo as the lovely girl
moved to sit in the chair opposite the Constable and propped her long,
shapely
legs on top of the desk.

"I told you. I came to see you," replied the girl. "Also, I came to
do
a little recon, just to see what the solids here are doing lately."

"Is the Dominion going to invade now?" asked Odo with concern.

"Soon, the Federation's proving more difficult than we thought,"
admitted the young woman with a frown.

"I still think that an invasion is ill-advised. The solids are
stronger
than you think."

"Perhaps, but they're undisciplined, given to emotions and disorder.
Our way is the True way. But military strategy isn't why I stopped by, I
came to see you. This is your last chance to come home with me. The
solids
aren't your people, we are. Your Major Kira has found love in the arms of
Shakaar, she will never love you. I do love you, and I want you to come
back
to the Gamma Quadrant with me. You've done some stupid things, especially
by
killing our operative on the Defiant a while back. You broke the primary
law
of Changling society, but I can smooth things over with time. You have to
come back, become one with the Great Link, and be my mate for eternity.
It's
not so bad, in fact, you yearn for it. I know you do," said the Bajoran
girl
with a smile.

"Maybe I do," admitted Odo with a frown, "but I can't just abandon my
friends to the Jem' Hadar."

"Of course you can. Can't I get it through your thick head that
these
solids aren't your friends. They don't know you, how you think, what you
feel. The Changlings are your family, we're your people. You'll never be
complete until you accept that fact and embrace it. You've been away for
a
long time, but now it's time to come back. Come back with me, please!"
begged the Changling female.

"Let me think about it," replied Odo tersely. "I need some time."

"O.K., but don't think too long. You've already taken more time than
the Great Link thinks is appropriate. But they don't know you like I do.
We've Joined, become one. I don't want to live without you if I can avoid
it, and I think you feel the same," said the girl.

"No, I don't want to be apart anymore either," confessed Odo with a
shy
smile.

"I didn't think so," remarked the girl with a smug grin as she rose
from
her chair and moved to stand near the stolid Constable. She leaned down
close to Odo, her long, red hair falling across both their faces like a
fiery
waterfall. Odo imagined smelling the scent of sweet roses as she kissed
him
softly, yet lingeringly on the lips, then bit him playfully on the nose.

"You've really got to work on the facial features. Maybe I'll stop
by
your quarters tonight and give you some tips," said the Changling female
with
a warm smile as she stood up and walked to the doors. As the portals
hissed
open, the girl turned to glance at Odo and said, "By the way, my alias
here
is Drua Celeste. Exotic, isn't it?" The red-haired young woman giggled
sweetly as she left the Security office, and Odo sat back in his chair,
his
eyes clouded with indecision.
