Matti,
   A while back, you suggested that we find a better way of transmitting
postings from us to you...
   Well, that got me to thinking.. and with writing a basic version
of uudecode, I realized that how many characters are on a line is encoded
into each line..
 
   So, I decide to pull out the uuencode source and have a look at how
difficult it would be to have it encode more characters per line... it
turns out to be extremely simple (change 45 to 57).. so I did it.
 
   Below is a sample of uuencoded text that uudecodes fine with the our
unmodified version of uudecode... I've shar'd it with a copy of the
un-uuencoded stuff and a long-uuencoded comrpess version of the same file
for comparison.
   Please try it and see if it works with your software.. if so, we can
start sending stuff as compressed long-uuencoded files.
