NOTICE - Biggest problem is the modem set up with OmegaComm
/ABBS/LABBS

WITH AUTO BAUD MAKE SURE THAT DATA TERMINAL READY IS OFF AND CARRIER
DETECT OVERIDE IS OFF. Often the default is both on all the time.
There are switches on the US Robotics modem. Modems that are Hayes
compatible and have no switches usually use &D2 and &C
1 in the
initialization string. External modems sometimes need to be treated
differently than internal modems. If you have tried every possible
combination and it still won't auto answer, the problem may be in your
ROM BIOS. Some pc clones are more IBM compatible than others. If you
are running OmegaComm BBS (uses fossil) and using X00.SYS, make sure
that you have 0=COM1 or 1=COM2, FILES=30
, and BUFFERS=30 in your
Config.Sys file.

You may use the tilde / ~ / within a modem string to indicate a
 1/2
second delay. You may also use '{' or '^M' for a ca
rriage return.
OmegaComm automatically sends a carriage return at the end of a modem
string so the extra one may not be necessary. On most Hayes compatible
modems the string ~~+++~~ will put the modem in command mode.
