INTRODUCTION
------------

File Hunter 1.9 is a Windows 3.0 application.  Using it, you can locate 
files quickly, anywhere on your system.  Since it's  a Windows 
application, you get the benefit of its easy-to-use interface.

File Hunter can locate files by their filenames, using the normal DOS 
wildcards (* ?), or by searching for text inside a file, using its 
Unix-like GREP feature. You can search on just a single drive, or add 
multiple drives to your search. File Hunter makes short work of the 
difficult process of finding any file.


SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
---------------------

File Hunter 1.9 requires Microsoft Windows 3.0.  It will work on any 
computer capable of running Windows.


INSTALLATION
------------

Since File Hunter 1.9 is a Windows application, you need Windows 3.0 to 
install the program.  Follow these steps to install File Hunter. For the 
purposes of these steps, we'll assume that Windows 3.0 is installed in 
the directory C:\WIN3.  If your Windows setup is different, simply alter 
the instructions to suit your needs:

1. Copy the file, HUNTER.EXE, into your Windows directory.

2. Run Windows.  When your desktop appears, open the Accessories program 
group, or click inside the group's window, if it is already on the 
screen.

3. Click on "File", click on "New,"  then click on "OK."

4. Type "FileHunter" in the "Description" area, then press <Tab>.

5. Type "C:\WIN3\HUNTER.EXE" in the "Command Line" area, then click on 
"OK."  If you copied HUNTER.EXE into another directory, use that path 
information instead.

That's it.  You'll now see the File Hunter icon in your "Accessories" 
group window.


RUNNING FILE HUNTER
-------------------

To start File Hunter 1.9, double click on its icon.  The File Hunter 
window will appear.

-------------------------------

While File Hunter 1.9 is very easy to use, you may want further 
instructions, beyond those given here.  To see all information about File 
Hunter 1.9, start the program, then click on "Help." Complete 
instructions for the program can be found in its help screens.


SHAREWARE NOTICE
----------------

File Hunter 1.9 is a shareware program.  If you use it regularly, you 
should register your copy.  Full registration information is available in 
the "Help" window.  Just click on "Help", then click on "About File 
Hunter."  Registration is $30. Registered users will receive the latest 
registered version of the program, with enhanced features.
