What is MEWEL?
Ordering MEWEL

CARDFILE is a clone of the CardFile program which comes
with Microsoft Windows (TM of Microsoft Corporation).
CARDFILE was written to demonstrate the capabilities of
our MEWEL window library, and to show how similar a
MEWEL application can look to a Windows, Presentation
Manager, or Mac application.

You can pull down a menu by pressing the ALT key along
with the menu item's highlighted letter. You can select
an item from the pulldown menu by pressing the item's
highlighted letter, or you may use the cursor to move
to the desired selection and press ENTER. Pressing ESC
will exit from the menu without invoking any actions. 

You can invoke the system menu (represented by the lit-
tle box in the upper left corner) by pressing
ALT+SPACE. The only entry which is active on the system
menu is the CLOSE entry. 

The following keys are supported :

CTRL END    bring the last card to the top
CTRL HOME   bring the first card to the top
ALT X       exit cardfile

F1  Help           F5  Dial        
F3  Find next      F6  Index
F4  Goto a card    F7  Add a card

The CARDFILE program (and all MEWEL applications) sup-
port the mouse fully. 

You can bring a card to the front by clicking on any
part of the inside of a card.

You can click the mouse on the scrollbar to move
throughout the deck of cards.

MEWEL stands for Magma Extensible Window and Event
Library. It is the first text-mode windowing library to
use the message-passing model like other state of the
art windowing systems such as MS-Windows, PM, X WIndows
and the MacIntosh. MEWEL supports all of the modern
controls, like dialog boxes, edit fields, scrollbars,
radio buttons, check boxes, push buttons, and
listboxes. Full mouse support is included. The API and
messages are fairly compatible with version 2.1 of
Microsoft Windows. When version 3.0 of Windows is
released, MEWEL will support its API.
