 OVERVIEW:
 =========

  This is a very brief documentation of the features of NG_CLONE.
  First comes a general description, then follows  listings of the command-line
  syntax, the available options and the valid keystrokes.


 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF NG_CLONE:
 ================================

  This program  reads, decrypts and diplays  the contents of database  files in
  the Norton Guide(TM) format.
  It can be run , either as a resident  program, right there at any time by the
  touch of a hotkey, or as a non-resident  file viewer, both modes of operation
  having totally identical functions and keystrokes.
  It will run under DOS 3.1 or higher on any PC or Compatible with at least 90K
  of free memory (resident or non-resident).


 COMMAND-LINE SYNTAX:
 ==================== 
 
  The NG_CLONE command-line is rather simplistic: 
 
  ng_clone <commandstring>, where <commandstring> has one of three forms: 
 
  1:  <{drive/path}filename{.ext} {drive/ngdirectory} +/-> ; 
  2:  </U> or </u>                                         ; 
  3:  </H> or </h> or </?>                                 ; 
 
  1. Run NG_CLONE in one of the two modes, resident or non-resident. 
 
     The + or - switch  makes it possible  for NG_READ to determine  what  mode 
     to  run, thus  it is  NOT  optional, but  REQUIRED  for  proper  operation 
     regardless of mode.  
     If no path is  listed  in the  filename  (first)  entry, and  there  is no
     ngdirectory  (second) entry, NG_READ will look for filename in the current 
     directory. 
     If no path is listed in the  filename  (first)  entry, but an  ngdirectory 
     (second)  entry  is  available, NG_READ  will  look  for  filename in this 
     directory.
     If the filename  (first) entry comes  complete with a path, this overrules
     the ngdirectory  (second) entry, and NG_READ will look for filename in the
     directory specified.
  2. Uninstall and remove NG_CLONE, if it is resident.
  3. Write brief version of command-line syntax and exit.

 
 AVAILABLE OPTIONS: 
 ================== 
 
  Expand: Show full information of the entry pointed to by the cursor. 
 
  Search...: This is for  you to  implement, let us hear  from  you  with  some 
  suggestions of how and what to look for. 
 
  Options: At this  moment, the  only  option is to load  another  guide  file, 
  but feel  free to improve on this  also, and let us know  any  suggestions of
  improvements. 
 
  All other menu items are specific to the current guide file. 
 
  Previous: Show full information of previous entry. 
 
  Next: Show full information of next entry. 
 
  See also: Show full information of entry pointed to by the cursor. 

  Toggle screen size: Toggle  between  12-line  and  full-screen  displays, the 
  first popping up on top of the existing screen and fully  scrollable by means 
  of a keystroke. 
 
  Scroll 12-line screen: Moves NG_CLONE small screen on top of existing screen. 
 
  Quit: If resident: Back to the program from which you hotkeyed into NG_CLONE. 
    If non-resident: Back to DOS. 
 
 
 VALID KEYSTROKES: 
 =================
 
  Enter:      Select menu item, or seealso entry, pointed to by cursor. 
 
  Esc:        Exit  nested  structure(s), ending up in an  attempt to quit, but 
              prompting you to confirm this drastic meaure. 
 
  Arrow keys: Move  cursor(s);  which  one of the  cursors  to move  should  be 
              obvious. 

  Tab:        Toggle screen size. 
 
  '+' key:    Move 12-line screen one screen line down. 
 
  '-' key:    Move 12-line screen one screen line up. 
 
  Home:       Previous. 
 
  End:        Next. 
 
  PgUp:       Page text display one page up. 
 
  PgDn:       Page text display one page down.
 
 
 
 HOTKEY COMBINATION FOR THE RESIDENT MODE IS CTRL-ALT-G.
