BinkleyTerm-ST 2.40 Update notes -------------------------------- Changes made between 2.40d and 2.40e: 1. It has been recompiled with a new version of Lattice C5. Some bugs that this has corrected include: - Date and Time of compilation as reported by pressing Alt-V in Terminal mode is now correct. - Problem with opening new files, which I kludged for 2.40d is now fixed, so Kludges have been removed. It may have fixed a few other things that went un-noticed. Its probably slightly faster and smaller. I also recompiled without precompiled headers which may have been causing a few un-noticed problems due to some #define's. Also all "#ifdef... #elif... #endif" constructs have been replaced with "#if defined()... #elif... #endif" to aid in portability. 2. A Janus error message has been put into the recent event window where it belongs instead of the transfer window messing up the screen. 3. Some minor modifications have been made to some of the Janus code. I'm not sure if this has had any effect or not. 4. Stopped it from bombing if BANNER is not defined in binkley.cfg. 5. Added Enno Borgsteede's modification for being in more than point network. 6. Compiled with full ANSI error checking and removed all except about 4 warnings. I'm not sure this will have any effect, but you never know. Known Bugs and bad features --------------------------- A lot of people are reporting problems with HST modems and negotiation filter messages. Some people are reporting problems with RTS/CTS flow control. The time and CPS rating for file transfers is often wrong. This could be related to RTS/CTS/interrupt problems. There may be a problem with using errorlevels, lockbaud and connect rates. Colour's don't work with software blitters which bypass the line-A routines. Also colour's are not restored at all points. Basically the video fossil emulator needs a complete overhaul. Contacts -------- Please report all bugs and suggestions to me with as much essential information as possible including what version TOS you have and any AUTO and ACC programs you have installed. Bugs should preferably be reproducable rather than an "it sometimes bombs if I stand on one leg while listening to Kylie Minogue and eating a banana!". If neccessary send any configuration and log files. Also !!!!READ THE DOCUMENTATION!!!!
