Ref: 03250433 Title: CS/1 Configuration and Testing for Bisynch Data Date: 6/8/88 Copyright 3Com Corporation, 1991. All rights reserved. The following test setup verifed the ablity of the CS/1 to pass simulated Bisync data. No claims are made on data format or framing beyond those tested here. Topology: HP-4954>------CS/1=========CS/1-----HP-4952 Cabling: Datascope to CS/1 'Satraight-thru' cable Pins 1-8,15,17,20 Equipment: 2 CS/1's with STS board Firmware: MCPU M2 MMON 01L EC M1 IECM 01F SIO1 M1 SYNC 01G SIO2 M0 ASYN 17F Software: SW/1-TCP-20000 Configuration: CS/1 port config: Port Transmission and VTP Characteristics: AUTodisconnect=Disabled AUtologoff =OFF BUffersize =82 DeVice =(Host, Glass, DeFault) Port Physical Characteristics: BAud =9600 BinaryData =OFF BSCProtocol =3270 BlockCheck =CRC16 CharCode =EBCDIC CarrierSense =ON DataBits =8 DLE ='^P' DUplex= =Half INTerfaceType =DCE LineProtocol =BYTEsynchronous PARIty =none PassCheck =Pass RECvtimer =64 RESpTimer =Disabled SOH =Execlude SYN ='2' SyncCharCount =4 UseDSRout =OnConnection, NoToggle UseDTRin =Ignore XmitBinary =OFF XmitTimer =64 Session Transmission and VTP Characteristics: BReakAction =Ignore FlowControlFrom =None FlowControlTo =None Data Scope Simulation Setup: HP-4952 Setup: Protocol BSC Display D & S Code EBCDIC Bits/Sec 9600 Err Check CRC-16 Parity None Mode Sync DTEclock DCE Sync on 32 (hex) Supress none The following program was entered on both the HP-4954 and HP-4952 data scopes: Simulate DTE Block 1 Set Lead DTR ON and then Set Lead RTS ON and then Send THIS IS THE 4952 CALLING and then Set Lead RTS OFF and then Wait 100 /* milliseconds bke */ and then Goto Block 1 Test Procedure: Each CS/1 was configured with the datascope connected to the SBA- ST J0, an async terminal connected to J4 on the SBA-U. One SW/1-TCP R 20000 was configured per above, then copied, sysgened for a unique IP address, and installed on the other unit. Upon completion of the third party connect, Xmit and Recv clocks were present on Pins 15 and 17. Both datascopes were started in the Free-running, simulate mode, and data was passed bi-directionally. Test results: Verifed the ability to pass sync data through our CS/1 product, however, due to the limited scope of the test we were unable to test 2780 datastream validity.
