History of SSAPatch: -------------------- Amiga Format gave ClariSSA on the cover of its July 94 issue. Since this was the reason I bought AF, I found it quite annoying that it didn't like my version of Kickstart. I haven't yet found a WB1.3 program which didn't work with KS1.2, so I decided to remove the stupid check. After a few hours of fiddling with Devpac (hey, it's my first hacking job), I found the offending check. I wrote SSAPatch using GFA Basic (which is why the program is more than 13K). Amazingly, it worked. Note that to run ClariSSA to its full ability you need ARexx. I don't have ARexx, but since it's possible to get it for WB1.3, I guess that the program will be fully usable. Instructions: [ The part you've all been waiting for ] ------------- SSAPatch will patch the program called ClariSSA in the current directory, so you need 'cd' to the directory where ClariSSA is, and then run SSAPatch. For example if SSAPatch is in RAM:, and ClariSSA is on the Format coverdisk (on a copy of it, of course), do: cd df0: ram:SSAPatch If SSAPatch can't find ClariSSA in the current directory, it will pop a requester and complain.
