@database "ReadMeFirst.guide" @Node Main "HyperIO - the communication solution for professionals" Welcome to the new HyperIO-Software =================================== Unfortunately, the completion of the new release has taken longer than expected. But you can bet that every single minute was well worth waiting for this release. So far, these new HyperIO drivers are of the highest quality and represent the definitely fastest serial and parallel solution ever seen on the Amiga. Generally, they include a huge amount of new features and functions. If you happen to know anyone using any previous/current HyperCOM card(s), be sure to inform him about the release of these new drivers. The drivers can be obtained freely via Internet at "http://www.vmc.de" or directly through the VMC Support Mailbox (Modem/ISDN) at "+49-6227-880464". Probably the most important information to spread: The completely new (black) HyperCOM3+ and HyperCOM4+ Multi I/O cards are available and ready for sale now! The new HyperIO drivers support all existing HyperCOM cards, including these new products. But back to the NEWS... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- @{B}hyperPAR.device:@{UB} The new hyperPAR.device now generally works for @{B}all@{UB} HyperCOM-cards equipped with a parallel port. The different interface ports can be accessed by the device`s units 0 to 9. The only exception is the HyperCOM3 fitted in A1200`s, which generally refers to unit 0 of the hyperPAR.device. Latest tests with the new HyperCOM3+ and HyperCOM4+ cards clearly showed that transfer speeds up to 800 kbytes per second worked flawlessly through the HyperPAR port. @{B}hyperCOMxx.device:@{UB} The new hyperCOMxx.device drivers were nearly completely ported to the new "HyperIO" standard, which will lead to more hardware independant drivers in upcoming updates to make these new improved and better drivers available to other existing I/O boards, like e.g. the MultiFaceCard II/III or GVP I/O Extender. The new hyperCOMx.device drivers are now also optimized for higher CPU`s which leads to another dramatic decrease of CPU usage. If you`re using Miami, ppp.device or NetConnect, you should set the EOF-Mode to "ON" in the appropriate interface settings. By doing so, the drivers can use optimized functions which will also result in a dramatic speed increase when using network or InterNet applications. @{B}hyperCOM3xZ.device:@{UB} The new hyperCOM3xZ.device now also supports the new HyperCOM3+ cards. Generally, it can handle up to 5 HyperCOM3+ or HyperCOM3z cards simultaneously, accessible through the appropriate devices (hyperCOM30z.device to hyperCOM34z.device). Furthermore, the new hyperCOM3xZ.devices now also support the upgrade module "HyperCOM3i". The use of the previous hyperCOM30i.device has become obsolete now. The serial ports of the 3i module can be accessed by the units 2 and 3 of the device. @{B}hyperCOM4x.device:@{UB} The new hyperCOM4x.device now also supports the new HyperCOM4+ cards. Generally, it can handle up to 5 HyperCOM4+ or HyperCOM4 cards simultaneously, accessible through the appropriate devices (hyperCOM40.device to hyperCOM44.device). Furthermore, the new hyperCOM4x.devices now also support the upgrade module "HyperCOM3i". The use of the previous hyperCOM30i.device has become obsolete now. The serial ports of the 3i module can be accessed by the units 4 and 5 of the hyperCOM4x.device. @EndNode
