Now all you have to do is put the command in a config file and go! (It's a little more than that, see the Installation section for more details.) Allows you to define where the command can be run from remote or not, also, automatically disabling file-requesters so you don't get a hung port! Trapping of assigns not made is done internally also, so you're safe there, too! Uses ReqTools requesters if available! (You need to have reqtools.library and rexxreqtools.library in your libs:) (I would have included the necessary files in this archive, but, as stated in the rexxreqtools docs, the minimum distribution requires the docs to rexxreqtools. Huh, you ask? I printed them out a long time ago and now I can't find the originals on my drive. If anyone has them, please mail them to me! :) Features to note: - Multi-line compatible. You don't have to worry about conflictions. - Self-cleaning. Leaves no temp files lying around. - Uses ReqTools requesters, if available. - Able to define new programs locally or remotely. - Programs can be restricted to local-use only. Type "Installer Install_RTFRI" from the Shell. b. Click on the "Install_RTFRI" icon from Workbench. 2 The installation script moves the required files to your specified location and creates an environment variable pointing to that location. 3 Customizing RTFRI's configuration file (_RTFRI.cfg): a. With your favorite editor, load up the example config file. b. Modify the configuration to suit your needs, adding or removing programs as required. Here are the special drop-ins that RTFRI understands: %c = # of columns %f = Path/filename passed to RTFRI %l = # of lines %p = CNet port called from %r = Remote usable 4 Add the calls to your bbsmenu file, using your favorite editor. I've added them to "1; Maintenance," but they could be placed elsewhere if you want others without maint access to be able to use them. Here is what I added to mine when used with the example config file: MT |{#4SN:SN_RTFRI %23 1} CED |{#4SN:SN_RTFRI %23 2} MTV |{#4SN:SN_RTFRI %23 3} MOST|{#4SN:SN_RTFRI %23 4} VIS |{#4SN:SN_RTFRI %23 5} Note that the above { is actually a control-Q command. Your path may be different, but the first variable "%23" MUST be included. It is required for RTFRI to talk to CNet's port. The second variable is also required, but depends on which line of the config file it points to. For example, MT above points to line 1 of the config file, which looks like this: MoreText LINES=%l COLUMNS=%c ALTCURSOR NOFILELINKS %f %r 5 Reload your bbstext/bbsmenu via CNet's Control Panel menu (option #3, "Text/menu reload RAmiga-T" and you're all set! 6 If ReqTools is available and no arguments are specified on CNet's command line, a requester will pop-up on CNet's screen and ask for a file. If RT isn't, it simply asks for the filename itself. Also, even if RT IS available, it will NOT be used if the caller is remote, for obvious reasons. :) 7 Examples (all using my config) Situation: (calling remote or local & RT not-available) CNet> MT Asks for a filename before calling MT. CNet> MT t: Same as above. CNet> MT t:dsds If exists, calls MT with that file, otherwise asks for a filename. Situation: (local, RT available) CNet> MT Pops up requester defaulting to the users' mail dir asking for a file before calling MT. CNet> MT t: Same as above, except defaulting to t:. CNet> MT t:dsds If exists, calls MT with that file, otherwise pops up a requester defaulting to t:. If MT didn't allow remote usage, RTFRI will let you know. If the specified drive/volumn doesn't exist or an assignment is not made, it will abort.
