I met the nice "HAPPY NEW YEAR" virus a week ago and i must say.. "SHIT" .. I lost my complete BBS: because that lame virus affected my l:HardDiskPFS witch is needed for my BBS:.. well. ooooh. So i figured.. Where the hell did that virus come from? OFCOURSE from one of the files uploaded on my bbs.. Hmmmmmm. so how do i prevent this from happening?? And voila! here it is.... The online virus stripper ....[DOCLHA] ;) DOCLHA REGISTRED WORKS WITH LHA/LZH/LZX/ZIP ARCHIVES! Legal Shit ~~~~~~~~~~ Well there is not much to say.. Use it and dont alter it. What does it do? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This little thingy will extract all the files from your uploaded LHA/LZH/LZX/ZIP file and examines it for virusses. It uses VZ 1.29 [EASY TO UPDATE!] to do this. If a file is corrupt the file will be moved to the hold dir and DOCLHA writes a report to VZA:DOCLHA.REPORT. There you can see the date, path and name of the file containing the virus. System requirements ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well.. eeehh. An AMiGA?.. Its purpose is for bbs usage but you can put it in Dopus and use it for cli checking. Its installable in /X and Sigma-Express. Installation ~~~~~~~~~~~~ FOR /X: Copy all files to the right places ofcourse. Ofcourse you DONT want to remove *YOUR* favorite LHA/LZH/LZX stripper and or adder! *YOU DONT HAVE TO*. Lets say You use ISTRIP. Then add this line to the DOC.LHA file: -----------------------------------------CUT .KEY parm .BRA { .KET } C:ISTRIP {parm} {parm} RX VZE:Doclha.a {parm} -----------------------------------------CUT As you see ISTRIP is just added above DOCLHA ..;) NOTE: ITS BETTER TO START STRIPPER/CHECKER BEFORE DOCLHA BECAUSE IF AN ARCHIVE IS CORRUPT, DOCLHA CANT CHECK IT AND WILL FAIL. You can add as much things as you like.. Use {parm} as the filename that has to be checked. To install DOCLHA for AmiExpress just copy the lha.info lzh.info & lzx.info to the FCHECK directory. For Sigma-Express ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SWITCH ON CAPITOLS in file dirs. e.g. NODE* CAPITOLS_IN_FILE (This should ALSO be fixed VERY soon) Use this in combination with BelchCheck.. Line 1 : I know its kinda lame, but this is the way i get the filename and this will be fixed in future releases. Line 2 : Your old Stripper/Adder/Checker. Line 3 : DOCLHA executable. Line 4,5 : The normal errors for your Strippper/Adder. Known Bugs ~~~~~~~~~~ It had problems deleting some adds that have been set with DELPROTECT (Like sissy can) But thats fixed now. PLEASE REPORT *ANY* BUGS!. if this program DOES not work on your machine CALL ME! ( Important for me! ) BBS NR BELOW!. If you try to check filenames like : Filenam.lha it wont work! IT ONLY WORKS LIKE THIS: Filenam.LHA < capitols. Changes ~~~~~~~ V0.0b - Released it to some friends V0.1b - And directly after handing some ppl this thingy a small bug came to my attention. Not only with sissy DOCLHA can get in trouble but also when there are too many subdirs in the temp dir there can be some probs.. Fixed - Changed the output a little and when a virus is detected the FILE_ID.DIZ will be written to the VZE:DOCLHA.REPORT. V0.2b - Jerked around a lot and removed the loose files. V0.3b - Changed the output and the sample handling, so now the machine does not WAIT untill the sample is played. Added the keyfile feature. PLEASE DO NOT FUCK AROUND WITH THIS!. Removed the writing of the FILE_ID.DIZ to the report file. This feature will be enchanted! Better looking report planned. V0.4b - Removed keyfile option. File is no longer in rexx.
