This is the first public beta version of Miami.

DO NOT DISTRIBUTE ANY PARTS OF THIS ARCHIVE !

No installation is required (even though the docs say that you should
run an Installer script. This script is not need or available yet.)

You should first run MiamiInit to configure your Internet connection,
and save the config file.

After that start Miami, import the config file from MiamiInit, and
briefly look through the configuration options to see if everything
appears okay, in particular the dial script.

Then save the configuration and click on "Online".


The current version of Miami has the same limitations as the demo
version will have later: connections are limited to 60 minutes, and
some other features (auto-reconnect, launching ARexx scripts etc.)
are disabled.


If you would like to register please feel free to do so, using the
enclosed program MiamiRegister. However please be advised that at
the moment you will only receive your license code from me, not your
personal keyfile.

A version of the program that supports the "registered functions"
and works with keyfiles will probably be available around July 20th.
At the same time a new version of MiamiRegister will be released,
so you can then register online, using the license code you
have received earlier.

Known problems / missing features in Miami:

 - There should be more ARexx commands than just QUIT, ONLINE and
   OFFLINE.

 - Phone logging is not implemented yet. It will be in one of the
   first registered versions.

 - System logging is not implemented yet. It will be in the first
   release version.

 - Miami and MiamiInit should both have an option to support null-modem
   setups -- will probably be implemented in the first release version.

 - Installer script is still missing.

 - There should be an option to create icons when saving config files,
   and Miami should read other config files when started through a
   Project icon.

 - External programs "MiamiSysCtl" and "MiamiNetStat" not implemented
   yet.


Known incompatibilities:

 - the AmiTCP 4.x version of "telnet" does not work with the "TCP:"
   implementation of Miami. Either use the AmiTCP version of "TCP:"
   by typing "mount tcp:" *before* starting Miami, or (recommended)
   use a different version of telnet, e.g. the free version on
   Aminet. AmiTCP's telnet uses some ugly and undocumented features
   in the original AmiTCP implementation of "TCP:" that cannot be
   emulated by Miami.

 - Miami might or might not work with squirrelserial.device. Earlier
   versions did not, but I made some changes in 0.421. If this one
   still does not work with squirrelserial.device please send
   email to "kruse@america.com".
