This is the FINAL_BETA_RELEASE(tm) of AmiTCP/IP 4.3 for selected audience 
only. We have all material ready for release, unless some bugs are found
during this short beta testing phase. Please report all errors you encounter
when testing this package a.s.a.p. to <AmiTCP-Support@nsdi.fi>


THIS BETA PATCH RELEASE ARCHIVE (AmiTCP-4.3betaPch.lha) MAY *NOT*
BE REDISTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY. THE SITE ftp.xgw.fi IS THE ONLY SITE THIS 
ARCHIVE MAY BE LOCATED AT. ALSO, YOU MAY NOT PROVIDE ANY *WWW LINKS* TO
THIS ARCHIVE.

IN ADDITION, THE EXISTENCE OF THIS ARCHIVE MUST NOT BE DISCUSSED ON ANY 
FORUM BY ANYONE ELSE THAN NSDi PERSONNEL.

The use of this patch is subject to same licensing terms as the 
commercial AmiTCP/IP 4.2, which is required to apply this patch.


Before installing this patch, copy full AmiTCP: directory to a new 
destination and make AmiTCP: assign point there. After final release
is out, this patch will no longer be supported. Final patch release
is available only to be installed over intact AmiTCP/IP 4.1 or
AmiTCP/IP 4.2 distributions.

Copying is done easiest the way: 
> makedir <new-dest>
> copy AmiTCP: <new-dest> ALL
> assign AmiTCP: <new-dest>


AmiTCP/IP 4.3 Read Me First file
================================

  This is the AmiTCP/IP Release 4.3 BETA released 19-Feb-96.  This release
  contains new features, minor bug fixes and performance improvements over
  previous versions.

  New features:

    * Improved and simplified configuration

    * Direct Dial-Up support with BootPConfig
        * Added the AmiTCP:db/AutoInterfaces file for DialUp
            
    * New improved SLIP device (aslip.device)

    * New API interface with Intelligent Priority Boosting

    * Up to 100 % faster FTP transmissions 

    * Improved command line utilities (arp, bootpconfig, ifconfig)

    * Improved Arexx interface

  Fixed bugs:

    * Stack overflows fixed with inetd

    * Other obscure memory trashing bugs are fixed

  Known bugs:
 
    * Stopnet won't always work with some buggy device drivers (a2065.device)
