******* No fix, no fun -=- Don't light a smoke with the sun ********** -=* Protracker V3.62 Beta 1 notice *=- Well done ... This is an really twoside-face beta. Since many musicians on the silent channels asks me for quick help and I worked at the 8 channel implementation: DON'T USE the eight channel routines in PT 3.62 Beta, or your data may be lost! In 'old' 4-Track-Protracker the follow points are new against the 3.61 release: * fixed crash if DirScreen or other than mainscreen open and setup called * some nasty bugs in window routines removed * especially for the guy who called me at 2:00 AM and wished an joystick implementation for remote controlling PT for presentation: joystick left: play stop joystick right: play fire: play * implemented the basic midi routines, works on my kawai keyboard (send me reports with technical data if it don't work by you!) * fixed bug with .nomod/.nodate in 3.61 * included the routines for GFX and track mixing for final release (who can eat sushi´s serial port debugger -)) and many more I forgotten on the fly. Resume: Well, I worked hard the last half year on Protracker and think, it was now an stable product for all new AGA-Amigas. Course, many features I missed for myself, but an half year I has searched for coders who works with me, alone without me or what ever, but on Protracker as an *real* scene product without money orders. What I has read the last months from 'scene' members who fight her shadow boxing lameness against all around, all against all, is an frustrating life-lie (as so many things an mirror of real life who consuming is today`s only moral), on the one same as on the other side. The boys with the big mouth today I see tomorrow as working family fathers with lost illusions, and THEN you understand me. The scene I know is dead since years. Ace greats the last time all silent readers from the old days. For myself I going now the way of many of yours, after 17 years in the PET/2001/VIC-20/C-64/Amiga coding area the time is come to say goodbye. Hope my resignation is not stable and I can finnish my PT project this year, but the next weeks I search the imagination without my keyboard, dance my dance in real life, show the faces on my sight and wish the dreams come through. Some day we see us all again. The dreams are gone. If anybody is motivated to continue, call me at +49-3821-813269 Tom Beyer
